Let me explain. The group required a pre-adoption fee and I did that. They said they'd get in touch soon and it took them forever and now they keep changing or delaying the appointment. I got irritated and somewhat yelled MILDLY at them but I kept my cool for the most part. I contacted them saying its unfortunate through my opinion, you deny me a dog but they will not listen or even engage in a conversation as to create a solution. Any suggestions?

I have 3.5 month old female beagle name Dasiy, and I had her for a month so far. I took out beagles books and trying to follow up their advice and methods. I am having a hard time house-training her. For example, we set up a schedule including play time and meals. When we are around or watching her, she would go to her potty pad spot and relief there(Of course we praise her), but when she is alone for five minutes or when we let our guard down, she would go somewhere else. Also, she is very stubborn, and headstrong and refuse to listen to me? Any advice? (Oh by the way, she knows two basic commands so far).

I saw this cute shiba inu that i wanted to buy. It's color is cream and i know that its a fault. So is a 900 or 1000 dollar Shiba Inu really expensive?

How much do Shiba Inu's usually cost from a pet store? from a breeder?

Don't tell me about the puppy mills and stuff. I know already!

Yes the dog stays outside 24-7 the breed of my dog is a pit bull and she is the sweetest friendliest dog. My boyfriend lives out in the country a little bit and he swears thats country folk leave their dogs outside well the ones in his neighborhood. He loves dogs and he does have shelter for her a dog house and shade and we always keep her bowl full of water and then we spray her surrounding area with cool water, But I still think thats not enough. I grew up with 3 dogs 2 big ones and 1 small 1, but we kept the dogs inside and out so when I found out he never lets the dog inside I freaked out a little bit. and thank you everyone for your commits. I feel like it is still to hot to have her outside though. I just had a talk with him and he listen to me and agreed a little bit so hopefully we can get her inside sometimes and if not I hope we can find a good home for her.....

My boyfriend has a sweet and energetic Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He's only a medium-sized dog, but he's too strong for me to walk or play with.

I'd like to have my own dog, preferably very small. It would need to get along well with the Staffie and keep him company. I really like Maltichons (tiny Maltese-Bichon cross-breed), but I am open to ideas. Which breed do you recommend and why?

Please respect the community guidelines as you answer. Thanks!

My 13 week old male black lab starts biting when he is excited and wants to play. I tell him no bite and hold his mouth shut gently for a few seconds. This doesn't seem to work and I obviously don't want to be too physical with him.

Any other suggestions? Is ignoring him enough to make him stop? He has already ruined one of my shirts by jumping and biting it.

We adopted a 9-month-old puppy that is not crate trained and seems petrified of the crate. He freaks out just going near it and will scream until he makes himself sick while inside his crate. He isn't completely house trained either. He does well most of the time but he has several accidents throughout the day. We know that crate training helps greatly with housetraining (as well as consistently taking him outside) but we are not sure exactly how to get him comfortable in his crate.
So, I would love some advice as to how to crate train an older puppy (who is used to being free in a house) that is stubborn and scared of his crate. If you could give me some sources where you found your information that is even better.
Thanks in advance.
:D

I take her up north and she's a sweet girl but doesn't come every time she is called. How can I get her to come off leash every time? All the other dogs up there remain off leash and I can't wait for that too.

I have a really active choco lab and he gets lonely sometimes when I have to leave for work and he has to stay fenced in the back yard. We live in a rural area and I was thinking about getting a shelter dog as a playmate for him.
How does that work?

We adopted a shelter dog three weeks ago. The first two weeks she couldn't wait to go for a walk - now she puts her tail between her legs and won't even go out the door. We never had a problem with walking her on a leash prior to this, no pulling, etc. Now she sits down and refuses to move. At 50+ pounds, she's too big to carry! ;)

Obviously, she's afraid of something, but how do we get her over this fear? She's an active lab and really should walk twice a day, but we are at our wits end as to what to do.

Me and my chihuahua go to the vet tommorrow to get her vaccinated for her tags.
I dread it because everytime we get her vaccinated she shakes and gets sickly and cannot stand on her legs.
What is causing this? Do all chihuhua dogs do this? She is 8 yrs old and I keep worrying she is going to die if we do it to her again. Is there some way to prevent it? Whats the deal with my dog? I told our 81 yr old vet, but he dont seem to worried.
