I don't think it's a good idea to restrict you dog's water intake at any time. If it's still a puppy, you may need to let him out once or twice during the night. If it's an adult dog, I would assume he can hold his bladder all night. If not, and he's just recently having accidents, I'd have the vet check him out to eliminate any health issues.

Is he in a kennel? If he's having accidents during the night, or day while no one is home, a kennel can help. It's highly unlikely that a healthy dog will pee in his kennel.

Good luck!

Dogs should have access to water 24/7. You can never give your dog too much water. He/She will drink the appropriate amount. Water is not like more kibbles to a dog. They will never drink too much for his body. You will not know for sure how much water your dog needs. If you notice that one day when you come home all the water is gone, then you may want to add more for the morning.

I had a long talk with my vet and all my dogs don't get water after 8 pm and I get up and give tehm water at 6 am and then they have water all day.
I have had very little problems with my dogs. Teh only time i give them water at night is when my central air dies and teh temp was about 95 in the house and we all drank a lot more that day.

We generally do a final water run and potty stop for our adult dogs around 9 p.m. As much water as they want is available all day. Very rarely does one of them need to go out again in the night - in fact once in, they rarely budge all night for any reason. Puppies may need one or two potty runs at night when they are small. So, yes, holding off water at night is OK.

No. Your dog should have water at all times. Any animal should have access to water whenever they need it. You do. And a solution that may sound awkward and weird-maybe if your dog is peeing at night then you should use doggy diapers. haha Or maybe just put a doggy door in so he can go in and out when necessary.

Fresh water should always be readily available. You should take him outside to take a pee before he sleeps and when he wakes up early in the morning, go straight outside with him and let him pee.

You can't give them water, they must have access to water all the time. Dogs build up tolerances though for their urine and excrement and they'll be able to hold themselves for many hours soon enough. I will say though pets shouldn't be made to hold in their processes longer than 9 hours or so. :)
