It all depends on her weight. It will tell you on the packet how much you should feed her according to her weight.. At 8 weeks she should weigh aboiut 9/10 kilos so check on the bag how much you should be giving a Golden Retriever of this weight. Don't forget to keep increasing the amount as she grows. Goldens have a tremendous growth spurt between the gage of 4 - 7 months and at that time they will need about 900 gms. per day, divided into three meals of 300 gms. When they reach 6 months you can give her two meals per day, i.e. the same amount divided into two. My two Golden pups are now 4 months old and they are going through a very leggy stage. They have three meals per day at present,. I would say what you are giving her is not really enough for a growing puppy. I feed Science Plan and according to the Bag she should be having twice the amount you are feeding her at present. She will always leave what she doesn't want. You could soak her food initially until her teeth come through. Then they like the 'crunch'. Good luck and enjoy your pup.

If you want to introduce raw food and the puppy has been having something else up to now just introdce the raw food very gradually in with the other food. There is no reason why you cannot give your puppy raw food if you want to. Lots of puppies are weaned on to a raw food diet. You could mince or blend chicken to start off as this is bland and shouldn't upset the puppy's stomach. Minced Lamb, turkey or rabbit should be okay too. Just keep off Beef until the pup is much older.
I know a lot of people who feed raw meat and they give their dog chicken wings which they love.
Just tap Barf (Bones and Raw Food ) into your search engine and you will be able to read all about the Barf Diet for yourself.

its best to feed it good qualtiy large breed puppy food
none of the foods from grocery store/wal mart are good quality.. you need to go to a pet supply store and read the ingredients list yourself - always avoid "by-products", which are filler - beaks feet feathers.. also avoid "meatmeal" which is mystery meat - any dead animal.
dry food contains some extras you cannot get in the raw food diets..and handling raw food can be bad for you.. if you want to feed SOME raw food thats ok - fruit and veges too ... dogs are omnivours they need more than just meat.

Nutro carries a large breed puppy chow, is formulated for larger dogs, and has additives to help keep them growing at an even rate , not such big spurts of growth, this helps them not to have the pains associated with these spurts, also is better for their hips and joints
