I'd think it'd be okay so it can cool the water down when she comes in from outside, but I'm afraid when she's drinking it she might accidently choke on one. Is it okay or not?

yesterday. My finace` LOVED that dog.... oh and she just became my fiance on sunday evening..... should I get another one to help her forget about Ron (our dog)? Or should I let time heal her? She was talking about getting a mutt from the pound so that Ron would have a buddy about a year ago. I loved him, too, so it wouldn't be just for her.

My dog has been scratching his ears excessively to the point that they bleed on the inside. He then licks his paws. He also has started shaking his head vigirously. I hear that you can give dogs Benadryl in this situation if the itching is from allergies. Is this true? How much can I give him (he is 75-80lbs) and how often? Please link any good websites.

I have a little 12 lbs dog. She is very loving and gentle and always shows a lot of submissive behavior such as rolling over onto her back.

She is a total lap dog and loves being around people and sitting next to them sleeping.

She is now 18 months old and I have noticed that if I try to stop her doing something ie sitting on the bed she showes her teeth.

Just a tiny bit but I notice, my response is to slap her straight away with a "NO".

What is the best and most productive way to train this out of her.

Thanks

Hey there....I have a pug the past 2 mornings, and on our late pm walk Duncan is acting like he doesn't even want to go out for a walk. I basically had to bribe him to come outside for a walk.
1) yesterday morning I had to bribe him out with treats. Then, he didn't even want to walk. He did his business, but it was about 15 feet from my place. I had to pick him up and bring him back in basically. When I go home from work though, he had no problem what so ever going out for his walk. But, then on his late night walk he pretty much pulled the same thing, but didn't even do his business.

2) This morning wasn't quite as bad, but I had to ask him to come out and when he did he was just being sort of moapy. He did his business though.

Is he being stuborn, sick, should I be concerned? He's not being lethargic around the house or anything. Nothing to me indicates he's sick. Him and my roommates dog were playing last night with each other, business as usual. He's eating fine too.

My new puppy is 10wks. old, we got her last friday, and I'm 100% positive she's a mutt. Beyond that, I really would like to know what she's a mix of. We were told that she is a border collie/ lab mix, however upon research, we began to think she had pitbull terrier in her.

Phoenix is SOOO full of energy. He is about 6 months old. We were aware that he would be a high maintance, playful pet. But we just cant seem to get him to pay attention or settle down long enough to learn anything...he just wants to GO, GO, GO......He will run through our flower garden and grab a flower in his mouth on the way through it, to the other side of the yard and knock over the bird bath, than jump on me spilling my coffee down my shirt...LOL...this is just an example. Its not like he never gets attention. We have a huge fenced in back yard and the kids and I are always back there playing with him.

Phoenix also, for some reason, will potty where ever he happens to be standing...on the concrete under the basketball hoop, in front of his kennel, right in front of the garage door, WHERE EVER...

We get frusturated with him but also laugh because he is so adorible...maybe thats our first mistake. LOL

My border collie Fly whose 14 months bit his dog trainer last night at classes, he and another dog were growling at each other and the other owner and i went to move our dogs back and Fly lunged at the other dog and my trainer managed to get in the way and Fly bit her leg, I am absolutelu gutted as I have a 12 year old and a 10 year old and I am so scared he will do the same to them. I have worked so hard wihe Fly since I forst got him, see my other questions and I really don't want to put him down only as a last resort,he has tried to nip my husband in the past but we stopped it by yelling ouch, he does have an aggresive streak in him but this really scares me, he never drew blood thank god though. He is fine with everyone else and is a aocial chap its just this one dog that he has taken a dislike to but also the trainer went into the middle of the fight to break it up, I use a head halti for him and i have a muzzle just incase. What the hell do i do? Please help me.

The breeder won't sell me a show potential puppy unless I'm committed to showing her or I pay the breeder to show her for me. The only non-show puppy she has is a runt. I don't want a runt for various reasons. I want a good representation of the breed (Shetland Sheepdog), that's why I'm willing to pay the show dog price, but I don't want to show the dog (lack of time, etc). She won't sell me a show dog unless I show it! Is that normal? Or, should I find a different breeder?

My parents have two dogs a black lab and a springer spaniel. When I moved out of my parents for a few months the black lab started to poo in my old bedroom, but when i moved back in she stopped doing this. She does it in pratically the same spot everytime.

A couple of weeks ago i went away for a long week end and she had done it again.

She is house trained and we have never had a problem with her before. We know it is her as she doesnt come in the room until it is cleared up and she is sure she wont get told off.

Any ideas why she does this?

She is very stubborn, and is still jumping up and biting. She is pretty good for my husband, but my 7 year old daughter and I have a hard time with her. She is almost three months old. We are consistent with her training, but it is very slow going. Do you think she would benefit from training class, or will she outgrow this puppy behavior anytime soon?

Dog is docile, quiet and lovable. My partner rescued him - was traumatised and abandoned as a puppy. Now I share studio with boyfriend and, although I vacuum all the time to remove hair, I've had recurrent eye infections, urinary infections and vaginal infections. May be no connection, but I'm worried. Boyfriend reluctant to have dog sleeping outside, although he's calm and no reason not to. Also does not believe there may be health risks. Despite my efforts, he does not keep to separate washing up cloths etc for the dog
I love dog very much but would be happier if I knew what the risks were. Flat is one large room with kitchen one end and living room/office at the other, with separate bathroom/WC. Door opens onto small garden, shared with three cats.

I leave the house at 8.45 and am home at 6.00pm i would love to get a dog but think it might be unfair. We have a house with a garden. Which dogs, if any, would be happy staying in for that period with no company.

My husband and I are planning a vacation for the end of this year and will be gone about 5 days. My dog is a year and a half and has never been left without us. SHe's very attached to us, sleeps in the bed, barks and cries when we leave for work everyday. I've never used a kennel/boarding service or pet sitter. I've heard that boarding dogs can be traumatic but i'm also somewhat untrusting in letting someone come into my house. I'm also not comfortable with leaving my dog alone at night. What should i do? Any advice is appreciated!
