A Hybrid wolf is a dog usually, Shepard or Husky mixed with a Wolf. We own one that is 97% and he is a wonderful animal. Those who say that they are unsafe have obviously never owned one! I have 5 children, ages 17 down to 2 years and hs is wonderful with all of them, including being very protective of my 2 and 4 yr old. He is very loyal, loving and intelligent. Hybrids need cared for differently than regular dogs, but they are not dangerous if treated right. If you are considering a hybrid wolf as a pet, I might suggest that you do plenty of research first and check your states laws on owning hybrids.

A wolf hybrid is a domestic dog that has been bred to a wolf originally 50%wolf and 50% other dog. Then people will breed back to a wolf again giving them 75% wolf 25% other dog. These people then do other breedings getting the wolf mixture up to sometimes over 90%.

A wolf/dog mix that has all the knowledge of a wolf about killing to eat and all the knowledge of human behavior from the dog...while some folks swear they are "safe" I'd steer clear myself.....
