She weighs 40 or so pounds and i feed her 2 cups a day 2 times a day. She gets some people fool (i know its not the best) She doesnt act like she is starving, infact she could really care less when i put food down for her she eats on her own time! so i just wanted to make sure i am feeding her the right amount.

Yes, that sounds just right. I also have an English bulldog, Manny, who will be 3 years old in August, and I feed him exaclty the same amount as your girl is getting, as well as a few people food treats a week. Just like your dog, Manny doesn't ever act like he's starving, and in fact more often than not, he leaves some food over in his dish. He also eats on his own time, as I have read that bulldogs seem to prefer eating small amounts throughout the day instead of just 2 big meals. He weighs 60 pounds, though, since male bulldogs are bigger, but he's not fat- it really is all muscle. Check out an excellent book I found called Bulldogs for Dummies- it has really helped me out a lot!!

Go by weight, if she is fat, pretend she is five pounds lighter and feed her that. The worse the food is, the more you will have to feed her. Innova is one of the best natural foods out there, and for a 40# dog you feed about 2 cups a day.

If her weight is where it should be I would say she is getting enough to eat. Do not overfeed her and get her used to excess food and overweight. It is very hard to get a dog to lose weight. I usually follow the recommendations on the back of the dog food bag. You don't have to follow it exactly, but it is a start.

I would talk to your vet or the breeder you bought her from. Whatever you do don't follow the feeding requirements on the back of the bag. They will suggest more food to make you buy more food.
