My dog is an English Pointer. We got her from Illinois Bird Dog Rescue. She came with the name Tallulah. Can you top that?

It has been a long time since I have seen such a ridiculous witchhunt. The media is all worked up over a guy doing what he wants with his dogs, all the while snacking on a chicken sandwich or cheeseburger.

Dogs are stupid animals just like cows. I prefer beef over dog and I like chicken better than cat, but so what. That is just my personal taste.

Are we really prepared to start locking people up over such an arbitrary distinction?

My Lab/Retriver mix puppy when he urinates on the grass, the grass turns yellow and dies. Is there something I can do to the lawn or give to the puppy to stop this?

My dog ran away from me at 6:30 pm. I looked for him until 11:00 pm. I ran/walked through woods, onto the beach and over fields. I finally found him at 10:30 but he ran from me into the woods. The woods were dark but I checked them out until they became too dark. A thunder and lightening storm then came and it rained like crazy. I decided to go home. I then waited up until 2:30 am. He did not come home. I then went looking for him the next day. Started at 7:30 am and got a phone call at 1:30 in the afternoon. Again I looked into the woods, beach and fields. at 1:00 the police phoned and told me he was in a persons garden. I went and picked him up. He has been acting strange since - for the last two days. And for the first time I am wary of him. (He is an Akita)
Okay, so the question: Dog owners sacrifice a lot, there time, love and money etc. Do you have a story where you have had to sacrifice for your dog:

I have been around the world, and in some unsavory places. Many of them right here in the good, old U.S. of A. Over the years, I have sometimes asked myself, “What would I do with credible information on a dog fighting ring?”

Luckily, I never had to deal with the question.

Today, another irresponsible professional athlete is making ALL of us face the issue. What do you think should be done, if he is found guilty of the charges?

He chewed up and ingested what I think is the lid to one of those Gladware-type containers... he's spent the last two or three days vomiting up small piles of it here and there, and today he's having trouble with his stool. I let him into the backyard for his morning break but I didn't watch him, so I'm not sure if he was able to eliminate but his backside is all covered in thin, dark muck and I've seen a few drops of blood. I palpated his belly and didn't feel anything too crazy, and he didn't seem to mind, but then he's usually pretty stoic. He's still retching up a clear, yellowish liquid and foam.

This is our first experience with this so I'm not sure if he needs to see the vet or if I should try home-remedy treatments first? (If so, what? And if this doesn't resolve within a day or so, he's going to the vet anyway.)

He's a neutered four-year-old Golden Retriever.

Thanks!

It is alleged that Michael Vick and his "colleagues" drowned up to 8 dogs for not performing well in their dog fights. Since Michael Vick hasn't been performing the well past few years, how many of you think he should be drowned as well?

Our labrador is going on 16 this August. She has had a pretty bad hip for a few months now but has never complained. Recently she hasn't been able to get up much and has trouble making it up and down the one stair to go to the bathroom. Sometimes she poops in her sleep without even moving. We've made an appointment to have her put down tomorrow, but I'm having a hard time bring myself to take her. Support is welcome

I want to plant creeping fig plants around my dog run, but I will be bringing home a new puppy soon and I'm anticipating she will destroy some. They will be on the opposite side of the fence, but puppies work magic. Just want to make sure they won't make her sick

I understand that people like mixes but prices for some dogs are getting outrageous. For the people who like small dogs the situation is even worse because they are difficult to get from shelters (I tried for months). Do you think it's caused because large breeds tend to have more heat accidents or because large dogs might be difficult to fit in cities lifestyles. Here are the pictures of my dog, I was told he was a purebred maltese but I think he has at least a bit of Pom, what do you think?
And please don't get mad at me, I love pom mixes and couldn't find the right one in the shelters near me, and if you think I was ripped off with my dog, his price was almost the same or even less that some of the "designers breeds", what a world!!!
