Vick is the scum of the earth. He is an animal just like those dogs. He needs to get the living **** kicked outta him.

Under the current agreement, because he woudl be a first offender, the NFL does have to wait before taking any action (suspension, etc), but the companies he has endorsement contracts with do not and that is where his big money is. Based on the charges, you can expect some of them to jump ship now if they think he will reflect badly enough on their product to hurt sales.
If convicted he faces a fine ($300,000 I think but don't know if that is on each count) and up to 3 yrs in jail (probably will get little or none). Where he will hurt is losing those endorsement contracts.

I am actually both. I am a football fanatice...and I mean FANATIC! I am also an extreme animal lover. I agree with you about Vick. He should be punished to the FULL extent of the law. In fact, I wish they would harshen the punishment for incidents such as this. He has killed probably hundreds of dogs both by his hand, his command, and by the training of his other dogs. He gives pit bulls and athletes bad names! I hope he gets all 6 yrs but unfortunately the justice system for some reason feels these people are slightly above the law. It was somewhat similar to the player that stomped on the other players face last season. I honestly think he should never be allowed to set foot on a football field profesionally again.

According to investigators, Vick's pit bulls were often executed after losing fights. The indictment alleges that in one case, eight dogs were killed by Vick and two co-defendants by "hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."
If he is found guilty I think he should go to prison. I think he should get the maximum sentence, and if he gets off for being a celebrity, I hope the NFL suspends him indefinitely.
If he has done this he is human garbage.

To me what that man did is horrible. If it was left up to me I would never let him play in professional sports of any kind ever again.
I think we should, rub beacon grease on him and put him in a cage and put about 10 Pit bulls in there with him!
Yes, I know Dog fighting is not a crime that we could kill a man for, it was just wishfull thinking on my part.

Well, this is an easy one for me! I am an animal lover above and beyond any other thing (well, besides family and friends), even though I do love football! I am horrified!!!!! I would hope that they would treat him and his cohorts like anyone else being accussed for this absolutely horrible crime!!! Domesticated animals are innocents and should not be treated in this way at all! This is one of the worst forms of abuse; it is right up their with child molestation and murder in my mind! So, I hope he is kicked out of his JOB and thrown in jail for many years to come!!!!

I hate questions like this because they tear at the bond between my head and heart. I have a truly profound respect and admiration for 'man's best friend' and it makes it all the harder for me to remain objective.
In the end I'm forced to say that I think he should be subjected fairly to the laws governing the matter and that I'd like to see the maximum penalty for each count.

My vote is to skip the long drawn out trial, save some taxpayer money, put him in jail for 2 years, and make him donate ALL of the money he has made in his NFL career (and any that he is under contract for) to Humane Societies across the country. And ban him from ever owning any type of animal ever again.

"The indictment Tuesday of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick on charges of running a dogfighting operation includes gruesome allegations of executing poor-performing animals by hanging and electrocution"
official comment from the Falcons: "we are disturbed by the indictment"
this is NFL, a religion in the US, he will walk, just wait and see...
Latest news: "Yahoo sports headline: Will Vick's indictment lead to suspension"
dduuhhhh... I dunno, should it ?
and this:
statement by the Falcons:
"Obviously, we are disturbed by today's news from Virginia," the Falcons said through a statement issued Tuesday evening. "However, we are prepared to deal with it, and we will do the right thing for our club as the legal process plays out. We have a season to prepare for and training camp opens next week. Our plan is to continue to do everything we can to support our players and coaches."
Untill, we, the people who make professional sports possible by paying outrageous admission prices and treating professional athletes as gods, wake up and read and understand the Olympic Oath and it's implications, the likes of Vick will be our children we will be forced to excuse and tolerate...
no more comments...

If found guilty, he will face huge fines and a few years in prison.
However, the NFL does not have to wait for court to decide his guilt. As an indicted player, he can be suspended from the NFL indefinitely. The Atlanta Falcons should release him immediately.
