I don't know if it mentions it above, but I've heard that about a 1/4 of tomato juice at meal time also helps.

Go to a pet store and buy something called a Pee Post (I think Pee Post is the name of it but I'm not sure). It's a plastic yellow stake that you put in the ground. It has a certain smell that makes the dog want to urinate near it.
This won't stop urine from turning the grass yellow, but if you have an area with no grass in it where you don't mind the dog going to the bathroom, you can put it there, and the dog probably won't pee on the grass anymore.

You have to catch it right after it happens and water the spot very thoroughly. The nitrogen content and the uric acid in the urine burns the lawn, so you need to dilute it and wash it into the soil to break it up.

Hi,
I have a website about Standard Poodles and there is a page about dog urine and lawn damage. Check it out, it might help.

Walk him yourself on a leash out of your lawn. Other than that, just more grass seed and fertilizer for your lawn.

Water the lawn after he went pee.
We trained our dogs to go pee in the back corner of the lawn...took them about a week but they got it.

There is a product called "Green Um" that my vet sold me. It is not expensive, and I just give my dog 1 pill a day tucked in some cheese. Works perfectly! Hope this helps. If your vet does not carry that particular brand he will know of other products that work.

I think it's better he pees on your lawn instead of your living room floor. You could try taking him to a dog park, if there's one near you, or walking him down the street (as long as you plan on picking up his droppings) instead of out in your yard.

There is actually something you can give the dog that will make his pee not kill the lawn...I don't know what it is called...try looking on like www.drsfostersmith.com.
