Can anyone tell me some games you play with your dog inside the house? There are times when going out to play is just not an option (too hot, storming, too late at night, etc...). Something that uses a lot of energy on his part would be greatly appreciated. I have a year old black lab and for some reason he is completely uninterested in ball playing outside today (it is really hot out and playing in his pool, while fun, does not take up a lot of his energy.) Any advice would be appreciated. I finally got him interested in playing with his squeeky ball, but ideas would be great for those other days when circumstances make it difficult to be outside.

My pup came to me with kennel cough. We have been to the vet many times. the cough seems to go away after taking all her antibiotics and cough meds, but when they are all done it seems to come back. I dont know what more to do for her the doc must think im crazy because every time she goes to the vet she is never coughing. The vet even messes around with her throat and the vet never gets a response out of my pup, she eats and drinks good and has not lost any weight. My pup normaly coughs at night and during rough play with the other animals. She is a pug and cockerspainel mix. please help!!!!

We just got a baby chihuahua, hes only 3 months. He got his first shots this Monday that past, including his wormer pill. He's been pooping worms here and there which is normal I know. My question is how long after he's had the dewormer pill should his worms stop? I was told about a weekish.

Go to dogbitelaw.com and you will see the facts.

In recent years, the dogs responsible for the bulk of the homicides are pit bulls and Rottweilers:

"Studies indicate that pit bull-type dogs were involved in approximately a third of human DBRF (i.e., dog bite related fatalities) reported during the 12-year period from 1981 through1992, and Rottweilers were responsible for about half of human DBRF reported during the 4 years from 1993 through 1996....[T]he data indicate that Rottweilers and pit bull-type dogs accounted for 67% of human DBRF in the United States between 1997 and 1998. It is extremely unlikely that they accounted for anywhere near 60% of dogs in the United States during that same period and, thus, there appears to be a breed-specific problem with fatalities." (Sacks JJ, Sinclair L, Gilchrist J, Golab GC, Lockwood R. Breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998. JAVMA 2000;217:836-840.)
Other breeds were also responsible for homicides, but to a much lesser extent

If they go on youtube to get info on how to breed, then they obviously don't know anything about it, please see this link and the statement that she will put the puppies to a dogs home: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoBK._9hp1e_HU4qYS_WglEzLxV.?qid=20070727052927AATnwvn

And then, after blocking some users she posts another one:http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al7rL_fvVM48DnLfwImqrjMzLxV.?qid=20070727060541AA597Ur

Why don't people understand that breeding is serious? Why can't people who want to breed seriously google other breeders and get some books first?
In the above case I think it is just someone joking to get attention, but it is so pointless.
Maybe there should be a name and shame list on YA for all the people posting "how to breed".

I will be getting one of the puppies in the picture below and was wondering if anyone can tell what other breeds are most likely to be in it.
The couple that I am getting him from adopted his mother and she was pregnant when the shelter said she was spayed but they kept her and the puppies anyways. The mother is a beagle basset hound mix but I don't know what the father is.
Does anyone have any idea on the breeds?

So, my dog has an appointment to be spayed in two hours and I totally forgot all about it. She has been in contact with food and though I was sleeping and didnt see her eat, I am sure she has. I am assuming that I will have to reschedule her appointment. Has anyone else done this and did you have to reschedule? I can't bellieve I did this, I feel so stupid!

We just got an English Mastiff yesterday, he has come from a home where he was not well cared for, he is thin and needs allot of beefing up. He is a super sweet dog, and HUGE! We hope to nurse him to better care immediatley but are not very knowledgeable of how to do this, we are however, giving him allot of love and attention. If you are knowledgeable about this dog please share some info about how we can give this dog the best care. He is almost 2 years old and needs to gain weight. Any sincere advice will be greatly appreciated.

I mix two types of dog food and feed them to my dog because she seems to get bored of just one kind all the time. Are there risks to doing this?

I have a camping trip planned for this weekend & was planning to bring my dog, but she came into heat a couple days ago. Is it still okay to bring her? Or will it attract wild animals?

I am a nurse & know how to give injections, however I have never given puppy shots. Do the vaccinations I get at the feed store have EXACTLY the same things in them that the vet gives? If the pups seem totally healthy should I just do it myself? I want to take them to the vet to get a regular 6 week check up, but would prefer to do the shots at home.
What do you suggest??

I just wanted to know if there's anybody on here that has the license and qualifications to breed dogs. I also want to know if anybody on here has a dog that either is a champion of some kind or has a champion background.

Just wondering. I always here from people on here who say "don't breed your dog unless it has something to offer to the breed and has champion heritage", and I was just wondering if there actually were people on here who aren't just BYBs and really do breed dogs the right way and for no more profit than to better the line of breed they have.
