If they go on youtube to get info on how to breed, then they obviously don't know anything about it, please see this link and the statement that she will put the puppies to a dogs home: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoBK._9hp1e_HU4qYS_WglEzLxV.?qid=20070727052927AATnwvn
And then, after blocking some users she posts another one:http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al7rL_fvVM48DnLfwImqrjMzLxV.?qid=20070727060541AA597Ur
Why don't people understand that breeding is serious? Why can't people who want to breed seriously google other breeders and get some books first?
In the above case I think it is just someone joking to get attention, but it is so pointless.
Maybe there should be a name and shame list on YA for all the people posting "how to breed".

I don't mean to have a hate campaign against anyone, it is just so demoralizing to see how inconsidered some people are.

Some people look at their pet as a four legged ATM. Unfortunately there is no way to stop these morons from breeding their dogs.

At only 4 months old, your dog has not yet reached adulthood and has not developed the qualities he will possess as an adult. At this point, there is no way of telling if the dog will develop into an adult that even SHOULD be bred. Keep in mind that when a male dog is used for stud, it is likely that he will cease to be the sweet, loving pet that he was before. He will likely have drastic changes in temperament, even become aggressive and teritorial and may begin marking in your house. These are behaviorial issues that cannot always be corrected with a neuter. In making the decision to breed your dog, determine if he has qualities that meet the breed standard and that will contribute to the breed in a positive manner. The best way to determine that is to have him evaluated by a show judge to see how he measures up as far as breed conformation.

There will always be a lot of people who breed thoughlessly. I have a neighbor who rescued 3 dumped dogs and since the husband doesn't believe in neutering, the female had 2 litters before she died.
He's since rescued a couple more dog, one - a female who's now had her first litter.
While I love my dogs and think of them as my children, I realize they ARE animals that don't have a high enough thought process to choose when to breed and when to not breed, so I had to spay my female and neuter my males. Breeding in animals is instinctual and in the wild is needed for continuation of the species. When animals live with humans, however, they do NOT need to breed every time the female goes into heat in order to prevent extinction of their species. Sex is a drive they cannot make intelligent decisions about. Therefore, dogs should not have right to have puppies every time a female goes into heat. Since they live with us humans, we have to choose which female dogs can or should be allowed to breed.
People who refuse to neuter may be confused.
Possibly they think that neutering an animal denies the animal the right to choose if they will have babies. Trouble is, the animals are not capable of making such an intelligent decision.
A shame list won't help.
There are none so stupid as those who refuse to learn.

I would love for this world to change in many, many ways and one of my greatest pet peeves is ignorant people creating a mess of things for responsible people to clean up... for example, backyard breeders... I would love for them to suddenly disapear, or better yet, to become educated! I have talked endlessly to people about the necessity of health testing, researching pedigrees and all the other time consuming efforts that go into creating a well balanced dog. I was 17 when I first showed an interest in breeding purebred dogs and if a 17 year old can find the right people to go to, the right books to read and educate herself, than anyone can. Ignorance is bliss and making money off your poor dog is bliss. It is one thing to want to learn how to do it right and to ask the questions before your female is in heat and tied to the nieghbor's dog...

Before anyone even thinks twice about breeding, they should read the following:
- http://www.learntobreed.com/ (note: some of the links are broken on this site, but what is there is good information)
-- especially read the story of Bliss the boxer! http://www.geocities.com/learntobreed/bliss.html

As far as stopping people from breeding, it would be nearly impossible. It's like trying to stop people from having kids.
About the only thing than can be done is to educate potential buyers to not buy from backyard breeders (or puppymills) so the demand will decrease and hopefully with no demand, people would slow down on breeding.
The other way would to be to have laws that require spaying/neutering unless you obtain a breeding or show license, but that approach goes against my political views 100%. And in addition to me not agreeing with in on principle, it would be nearly impossible to enforce.

ignorance - pure and simple and I do mean simple. The problems caused by people who think it's just a matter of having some cute littles pups are huge. I hope well meaning would be puppy breeders will read these posts and refrain from breeding unless they do all of the proper tests and take very good care of Mom and her babies.

In my opinion, in order to breed and make money off of puppies you should have to have a "breeders license" or something where you are watched for the first litter and ensured to do all that is supposed to be done. Something, there are soo many problems coming up in dogs due to bad breeding that it is sad and you really have to watch what breeder to go through. It is very sad!!!

You have little chance of stopping this but never mind dogs what about some people who breed without considering how they are to provide for the poor children in the future, How about an adult version "how to breed wisely"

I wish there were some way to stop these kind of people..to stop BYB/Mills..irresponsible breeding.
Many people who breed irresponsibly know they are breeding in an unethical, irresponsible manner but really don't care..it is about $$$$$$$$ not about health and welfare of the dogs they use for breeding or the pups produced.
