Have you ever noticed that the RNIB dogs are mainly Yellow Labs, and that some dogs for the deaf are Black Labs? You very rarely see the chocolate ones, and I have come to realise why! Ok, they sometimes appear as sniffer/service/detector dogs and the reason I think is - they are the Asbo-hooligans of the lab world.

I have a 16 month old Australian choccy lab, and by god, he's into EVERYTHING, and is on the go for 19 hours a day. (re-charges batteries for the remaining 5) Yeah I know he's just a pup yet, but from everyone that owns/breeds, or previously owned ANY labrador (including consulting with various Veterinarians), the chocolate variety are the 24hr a day boistrous ones.

On the TV programme "Dog Borstal" have you noticed that 99.9% of labradors are the chocolate ones? (Yes, fair do's, most of the problems all dogs develop are "human-caused") but surely, there must be a few grey cells lacking in the skull department of this breed? Hmm! Got me thinking! IQ for dogs?

I'm really not a dog lover AT ALL! But my boyfriend loves them and can't imagine life without one. We live in a small house, 2 bedroomed terrace. I know these are big dogs and I was quite taken with the idea of having a big fluffy playmate but I'm not sure of their temperments? And realistically, how much space do they need? Do they need to undertake training? Are they good with children and babies, we have a 2 year old daughter. Has anyone ever owned one?

But I'm not getting much sleep cause she wakes up in the middle of the night to eat and after she eats she wants to play. How can I get her used to sleeping alone (should I start now?) with out hearing her cry cause it breaks my heart. Advice would be nice.

I cant resist it face~ & Peples i know Pitbull is violent, but NOT all of them r cruel. Give the Pitbull a chance~ plz help me pick out them, tell me the reason why you think they are the perfect dog.

I miss my dog so much. She was stolen. Someone just came to our driveway and took her away with them.

How can I get over this? And has this ever happened to anyone?

I have a BB gun for only one purpose, to shoot stray or mean dogs that come into my yard. I have four young kids and I don't want to put them at risk. I also don't want to hurt the strange dogs, just scare them away. Can a pump action BB gun do any real damage to a dog if the shot is from 10 feet away or more?

We just got a new addition to our family a 4month old GSD. He's fine with my daughter in laws 2month old GSD, but he runs if we try to pet him. Outside he'll circle you, and follow you if you walk away. But as soon as you go to pet him he puts his ears back and takes off as fast as possible. Any ideas?

I am getting a new Maltese pup and would like to come up with a unique name-2 syllable and nothing like snowball, puffball or mop or anything like that. I have had to Maltese in the past and it gets hard to name them. I had a Corky and a Mowgli. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks much!

does everyone believe everything that is said about aggressive breed dogs? i have a pit bull and have had this breed most of my life, even when my daughter was a baby and have never had the first problem. why can't we investigate the owners of the dogs before we start a panic. education is everything.

Which web sites you recommend to learn more about this breed? Any special care overall? We bought a litterbox at the petshop where we bought him, but we are still uncertain on how to teach him to potty train. The litter sand smells bad and everytime he lies on it, he smells awful too and requires a bath. By the way, how often do we have to bath him? He is our third puppy as long as we've been married...we couldn't handle the other two because they were too big for our small house. We would really want to keep this one now, especially since it was a Christmas gift for our daughters who wanted him so badly. He also has an umbelical hernia. I already did research that this is quite normal and does not need surgery. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I had a friend who had a 13 yr old boxer mix who was really sick that had cancer and they didn't have money to put her down. Her dad took her out to the woods and shot her. He buried her there and he was really sad that he did it. But i hear people do it because they bite people or they won't stop peeing on the floor.

My dog has been constipated for a while, then today there was a clot of blood in her poo, what are some ways, or home remedies for her. Or I might just call the vet.
