I am getting a new Maltese pup and would like to come up with a unique name-2 syllable and nothing like snowball, puffball or mop or anything like that. I have had to Maltese in the past and it gets hard to name them. I had a Corky and a Mowgli. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks much!

I've just found a site with over a 1,000 suggestions for names for a Maltese puppy!
http://www.malteseonly.com/names.html

Like Baloo, Bentley, Caper, Einstein, Fondue, Louie, Mo-Jo, Ninja, Quincy, Rowdy, Tarzan, Uncle, Walrus or Ziggy.

I'm sure that you'll find something perfect for your little man.

a unique name? maybe a name that stands for his personality. or try another language! something unique!
The most popular dog name in North America is Sam, Sammie orSamantha (which means "listener"). The second most popular isMax, Maxie, Maxwell or Maxine (which means "the greatest" in
Latin). Third is Lady, followed by Bear, Maggie, Buddy, Tasha,
Chelsea (or Chelsie), Holly and Shasta. Other very popular names
are Brandy, Ginger and Taffy.

It may be surprising, but more than half (50%) of all Pet Names
are either human names or nicknames. People largely name their
animals as they would name themselves.

Another fifth (20%) of names are based on the Pets appearance or personality.

DammDog!

Just for fun, but really see what the personality is and choose a name that fits. I have a cat that when we rescured him from thepound had a cold and kept sneezing on us so his name became "Booger" but we call him Boogey or boog boog most of the time. Then you will have a story to tell as well.

If it's a little girl you could name her chiquita (yes Im aware a it's not quite 2 syllables) and if it's a little boy you could name him something like Rambo... the whole napolean syndrome ;-)
