I recieved a 4 year old yorkie from a friend of mine who breeds them. This one was returned to her because the family who bought him no longer had a place to keep him and wanted her to find him a good home. The thing is, unlike his litter mates, he is the least likeliest yorkie I have ever seen.

He is a blued yorkie, and stands about 13-14 inches in height, weighs 16.5 lbs. (not over weight), and his ears droop.

Any one else ever see one like this?

And their son is afraid of dogs. He tells everyone that he was "mauled" by a dog, but he doesn't have any scars or anything like that. And, I kind of like this guy... My dog, Bear, is being put in his kennel while we eat, but afterwards I want to let him out, he's kind of like a brother to me. How do I do this without scaring this guy?

I've noticed with my two dogs that they are both rather protective of their tails. They do not like their tails to be touched. If you touch it, they will try and tuck it between their legs and move so you can't touch it. Is this common among dogs? Cats normally seem to use their tails to interact with people... Sort of taunting you with them for attention... It also seems like cats have more conscious control over their tales then dogs do. Have other people noticed this and is it true?

My dog is basically a good dog. BUT, we currently have a 8 month old that is crawling around. He loves Gizzy however Gizzy trys to detour around him but sometimes Austin grabs hair or something. Gizzy bit him one time on forehead. We are scared he will hurt the baby. We tried to give him to a good home but he got very angry with new owners growling and biting we had to go get him. HE hasn't acted up sense he has been home. But does anyone have any suggestions on what we might do to prevent him from hurting baby. When Gizzy bites he is strong and it hurts. He isn't neutured and was wondering if this might help.

I don't understand why people get dogs and then tie them up outside like lawn ornaments. Don't people understand the nature of these animals to be part of a pack? Do they know that dumping the dog outside while the rest of the pack is inside is pure torture? Why do people do these things?

My 14yr old Dalmation has been gone since at least 4:30pm & we can't find him. His legs haven't been working very well for some time. The vet said he had prostate cancer 3 yrs ago & wouldn't live 8mo. but he has. I know he has heart worms & only found out 1yr ago & the treatment for an older dog was iffy especially since you have to keep them still for 6wks & we have 5 other dogs to get him excited, his age, cancer, etc... We are surrounded by woods but his legs don't work very well & he doesn't do steps at all. It's very cold outside right now & I don't know what to do. Could he have went off to die? Everyone is telling me that. I can't stand the thought of him freezing to death. We've been out there for hours & can't find him. Can someone give me an answer or something else to do? I just wish I could find him. I watched this dog being born, I just wish I could be with him in his final day.

My min. Jack Russell has started to produce milk in her tites, I am thinking she is prego, but I just want to make sure. Her belly isn't any bigger but her tites are. If she is , how far a long will she be if she is already producing milk, I have heard about 4 weeks.

I have a Chi/Italian Greyhound mix and when she sits, she doesn't merely plop her bottom down. It seems she has to fold her legs beneath her. It seems like maybe it hurts to sit normally? She doesn't yelp or complain, she just painstakingly folds her legs beneath her. Maybe her legs are just too long to just plop her booty down? Sore hips? Something genetic?

Her pics are here: http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=418115

She has been licking the area around the bottom of her tail near her anus. I just looked at it today closely and it looks like there is some hair loss, and red spots. I guess for an example, it looks like a strawberry when we humans get a really bad scratch or something. What could this be?
