crys when he bits her in the neck.I also did not realize the extra work a second big dog is,espically that i just got a pacemaker and am having slight problems. I feel sooooooooo bad to bring him back. do you think in this week he got felt comfortable and now i am going to ruin that and bring him back. or do you think it is just a dog and they do not know and i am overreacting. advice please. I am sad and crying because i have to bring him back tommorw. the rescue lady i talked to was a complete b****. and told me since i wanted to bring him back today when i talked to her.She was cockey and told me i think i am the only one with a life. As she went on and on about how she has to do all these things for the dog and how just because she owned the rescue she was only considered a volunteer.

5 year old yellow lab was fine until two weeks ago. Had discharge from eyes, and took the dog to the vet. Found that left eye was cloudy. Vet thought probably uvitis. Vet put dog on drops and anti-inflammatory. Discharge stopped. Eye still cloudy, and dog cannot see out of left eye. Put dog on strong antibiotics (Primor, 450mg 2x day). Eye no longer cloudy, but cannot see out of eye. Eye seems to be brown throughout.

Vet now thinks blastomycosis. But the following symptoms were never present: fever, weight loss, edepression, looss of appetite, lesions, resperatory problems, lameness (no testicals, na) seizures, courghing or lymph node issues (per MD).

What next? What are possibilities. Vet says remove the eye and send it out for testing. Says that Blastomycosis is most probable, but that cancer and benign tumor are possible.

Dog goes to forested park with running water every weekend, and loves to swim. Location: Southeast Wisconsin.

Any ideas?

I know about poinsettas, antifreeze, chocolate, and that new ingredient in sugar free gum. Someone told me golf balls can be bad, is this true? What about tobacoo and marajuana smoke inhalation (besides over long periods of times), my friend's bf smokes pot in front of his puppy, what short term effects could this have? Anyways, for my own dogs' sake as well as my friends, I wanted a very thorough list of items that could be hazardous. I keep reading silly things like grapes, true?

We have a small dog (7 lb havanese) that has become overly protective of my 2 year old son. He keeps biting people that try to get near him. We have tried trainers, but it hasnt worked and we are at the point now where we feel he needs a new home. We can't handle another person being bitten, expecially a young child.

So does anyone have any ideas of websites or phone numbers we can call to find him a loving home?

Thank you all in advance

As a breeder of PUREBRED AKC registered dogs I detest the unethical breeders who breed the so called "designer dogs" which is just fancy speak for a mutt. Not that I hate the dogs themselves or think they are ugly (well some are but it's not their fault) just the fact that some breeders of the so called designer dogs will take 2 purebred dogs and mate them to produce mutts! Then they slap crazy prices on them and some people are stupid enough to actually buy one when they can get the same mutt from an animal shelter who needs a home. INstead of purposely breeding to get the mutts if they love the mixed breed so well they should try to place those in the animal shelters in homes instead of creating more mixed breeds. Then there is the so called registeries that will register the dogs are purebred---that's why I stick with AKC; you won't find Puggles; Peek-a-Poos; Labradoodles; etc in there!

What is your take on these designer dogs?

My lhasa apso has already been injected with Homeagain Microchip but that only will work if someone actually turns my dog in to the shelter or veterinarian.

I dont know what to do but i have a problem. I have three dogs two black pugs and a siberian huskey mix {alexis}, and when i pay "any" attention to alexis my pugs go in my room and they use the bathroom. We have punished them several of times and showed them outside and all that they stoped for awhile, until alexis was allowed inside and they started back up. I cant stand the smell i am 5 months pregnant and these dogs sleep at the end of my bed, alexis sleeps on the floor next to the bed. I have been wanting to put all the dogs out of the room to avoid hurting them i get so angry at this problem, however i am scared of the pugs doing stuff in the living room. They are 7 months old and have always slept with my husband and I. we have done everything even shutting the door while we arent in the room but the pugs seem to remember everything and when its time to go to bed they do there buisness in there and get in trouble but there not paying attention to us can anybody help

Landlord fumigated my new apartment, spray from the can is now on my carpet. My Boston Terrier, 16 pounds, runs after her balls, gnaws on her bones and licks her paws. would baking powder neutrilize it and then vacuum it up. Would it be of help to have the carpet cleaned with non toxic cleaner? Is there such a thing as nontoxic rug cleaning? Would wiping carpet off with vinegar work?

So here's the deal, my dog keeps shaking his ears and now has started scratching them, PLEASE do not tell me to go to the vet, if i wanted that answer then i wouldn't have posted this, it's not that i'm lazy and don't want to go, i just can't afford it right now...anyways, he's been shaking his ears, but has had no excess build up of wax or odd debris coming from his ears, and there is no foul smell, i look inside his ear and it's not enflamed i just see a TINY bit of redness, but he doesn't whimper about it or anything, he just keeps shaking his ears, like it's irritating but not painful...does anyone have ANY idea what this might be, i don't see any earmites in his ear either, and the symptoms of earmites just don't comply with his current symptoms, like i said, there is no excess wax build up, could it be a yeast infection in his ear? *sigh* i just need some insight w/someone who has had a similar experience or knows of something? i'd appreciate it
