Call your vet and ask him/her if they have Deramax or Rimidyl. They are both very good pain medication . Along with the pain med there is also medication in this pill for inflammatory. I have used both of these on dogs that had cancer and arthritis. Good luck and I hope your dog's pain is relieved very soon.

Hi I have a lab that has trouble with his hind legs and when he is in pain my vet told me to give him Ascriptin which is aspirin buffered with maalox. It is safe for pain relief and won't bother the stomach. I give him when necessary. I started him out with one but he is 119 pounds then I started him on two. It was recommended by my vet and does help. Hope your baby is feeling better.

First of all, if your dog is in pain, you should take it to the vet. The vet has several pain killers that he/she can give you to help your dog out.
My senior dog has arthritis, and the vet has him on Duramaxx.
I hope these sites help you.

Never give ibuprofen. It's very bad for them.
Acetaminophen can be used, but the dosage is tricky! If it's used improperly, it can cause liver failure. So, the best thing would be to let a vet decide.

our vet told us to give HALF a paracetamol ONCE a day to our dog who had arthritis in her back legs.
this seemed to help a lot but i wouldn't recommend this as a long term solution.

children tylenol as long as you follow the dosing instructions for weightor if unsure the smallest dose you can give according to directions, our vet told us this after one of our dogs was older and (aparently) sprained a leg while running and jumped our fence (was going after another dog on her yard) the only difference between human drugs and alot of animal drugs is price
