Scratching and shedding sound like she's got allergies. You need to put her on a better quality food ASAP. Iam's is crap, plain and simple, and they support animal testing. Try something more natural with less fillers like corn and soy, which are huge allergens. You don't want to feed her anything that says "by-product" on it either. Innova Evo is one of the best, but there are lots of healthy foods out there that are very similar. You can find the good stuff at locally owned pet stores.

IAMS isn't a very good dog food in the first place, and a bad diet for your dog will promote excess shedding and skin issues...I suggest changing your dog food to something that doesn't have corn as the first ingredient. Look at the ingredient list and a meat such as chicken should be listed as the first ingredient. Look at the guaranteed analysis to see that the protein level is at 30% or more. The fat content should be at 18% or more. And if there is a rather wide spectrum of ingredients such as omega fatty acids and Vitamin E, that's good, too. There should be NO FOOD COLORING!
I have had so many labs in my life and none of them have shed all that much. They are short haired dogs, so they shouldn't be shedding as much as say a husky (which I have right now).
I would also recommend possibly taking her to the vet, to see if she has a food allergy of some sort or developed a rash or even has fleas (which could cause all the itching).

Puppy at about 4 to 6 months of age usually shed alot as they are changing their fur. It is OK. You may like to check whether she is being attack by ticks, flea or mites as she keeps itching herself. Sometime it may cause because of skin rashes.

She's ok unless you start seeing bald spots, then take her to the vet. dogs shed for change of seasons but also when feeling stress.
