Because their ignorant and close minded! People like that are ones that have no true knowledge of dogs and their natural instincts and how to raise them using the dogs natural instincts. Any dog has the potential and ability to bite. And any dog when socialized properly with people and other dogs can be a well balanced and stable mannered dog. And with proper obedience training with a handler/owner that is consistent and is themselves shown proper and correct methods of training. The end result will be a unbreakable bond and partnership between dog and master. I have trained many dogs. From simple and advanced obedience, (Which included some Pitt bulls) to training dogs for police service work for over 12 yrs. And one of the most important parts of the training is socialization. It creates confidence in the dog making them more relaxed and comfortable when it come to being around other dogs and people. And uses the natural instinct in the dog to be part of a pack.Which instinctively is all they wanna do anyway. As well as teaches YOU how to read and understand pack behavior by watching the dogs inner act with each other. Because as far as your dog is concerned you and your family are part of his pack at home and he will exhibit most if not all of the same behaviors that he/she exhibits with his other canine playmates at obedience class. .

There's no such thing as bad dogs, only bad owners. Some of the nicest dogs I know are pit bulls.

pit bulls are like children in a way.. when you have a puppy you have to almost be around it constantly and show it all the attention it wants... and itl be a good dog but if a person were to abandon it or mistreat it or not feed it enough the dog will learn to hate people .. some dogs dont do this most pitts will. my pitts i have had in the past werent mean dogs they were pertective tho... my male would stand by my side and if i were to get mad he would perk back his ears and growl at the person.. (telling them to move away) but i never had him bite someone before he has gottento the point where he would havve if i didnt pull him back but at the same time my 3 and 4 y.o. neice and nephew could jump on the dog and romp around with him and he was fine ... he was only aggressive for my safety.. stupid people in the world is what gives them a bad name

here are just a few videos that you can watch.. Pit bulls are used *** service dogs, police dogs, therapy dogs, SAR's dogs and diction dogs. They have been owned by three presidents while they were in office. People like Helen Keller, G. Patton, Michael J. Fox and Madonna. Raelch ray uses hers as a logo for her new show. The US government used the pit bull in WW1 as a symbol of courage and national pride. They were once called the nanny dog for their great love and feeling of protection for children. They are also the most abused breed in this country. I own one, he is my service dog and is the best dog I have ever owned. They are smarter than most breeds and needs to be train well. It is the fools and outlaws that have given them such a bad rap. There are dozens of Web sites that show just what a great breed they are.

I have been breeding and raising American Pit Bull Terriers for more than 25 years, and I feel that this breed is the most misunderstood of all. These dogs have brought much joy and love for my entire family. Misinformed people and the media are the biggest problem to our breed. My dogs are very good with people, as most purebred bulldogs are. Irresponsible people and lack of knowledge pose the real problems. We hunt with our dogs, but they are all " house dogs ". Actually, my top breeder
female sleeps in bed with my wife and I. I have never seen a more devoted and faithful breed of dog in my life - If you ever need information on these dogs from someone who has dealt with this breed most of his life - please contact me - No, please don't kill all A.P.B.T.'s

Well, ask that after one tears your child to bits or bites your arm off. They are unpredictable and NOT bred to be kept for lovie dovie pets. They are bred to kill. Seems some people just don't get it.
