I recieved a 4 year old yorkie from a friend of mine who breeds them. This one was returned to her because the family who bought him no longer had a place to keep him and wanted her to find him a good home. The thing is, unlike his litter mates, he is the least likeliest yorkie I have ever seen.

He is a blued yorkie, and stands about 13-14 inches in height, weighs 16.5 lbs. (not over weight), and his ears droop.

Any one else ever see one like this?

He isn't a mixbreed. He is pure bred. His sire and dam are kept away from the farm dogs. (She's had this pair for six years and has since retired both sire and dam.) The vet has also stated that he is a yorkie, but that it is probably a throwback gene or two surfacing.

except for the height/weight/ears he is the spitting image of his father. Placed side by side, one often thinks that the sire is the pup.

My yorkie is 15lbs. I kept his ears drooppy on purpose. I just call him a genetic misfire. He sounds just like mine...I don't think mine is that tall though.

HI Atreada, Sounds like the little guy is mix breed. If a female has been mated with the same kind of breed and another dog gets to her, the litter will have 2 dads. Yes this is a true fact. That's why he looks different than a full blooded yorkie. Hope this help you out. A Friend.

He is a mix. Yes, you can have purebred and mixed dogs from the same litter. A dog can mate and conceive multiple times over the course of a week, this can result in some purebred pups and some not purebred. Bet you can do a DNA test on him and his supposed "father" and it will come back that daddy isn't really daddy at all. The DNA tests are only $38.00 and available from www.vetdnacenter.com or call 800-625-0874. Your friend had a midnite visitor to his female! :)

He sounds adorable! though
Does your friend have other breeds at his home? that may give you a clue as to his parentage..

There are TENS of THOUSANDS of **CRAP** yorkies...like any OTHER "FAD" breed! So many that average "boob-in-the-street" couldn't tell a QUALITY speciman if they TRIPPED over it!

Folks breed CRAP to CRAP & they GET more CRAP!! What a SURPRISE.....NOT!
