I have a Chi/Italian Greyhound mix and when she sits, she doesn't merely plop her bottom down. It seems she has to fold her legs beneath her. It seems like maybe it hurts to sit normally? She doesn't yelp or complain, she just painstakingly folds her legs beneath her. Maybe her legs are just too long to just plop her booty down? Sore hips? Something genetic?

Her pics are here: http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=418115

It is probably just the Hound in her. My Whippets all sit on their haunches.

And IG's are NOT likely to have hip problems!

Aw, she's so cute!! I think it's probably normal because of her long legs, but because IG's are more prone to hip problems, etc. it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it checked out just in case.

why post this question once? lol you said that to me haha. I think you should really get your dog checked at the vet's since the dog cant tell you if it is hurting it or not. You dont wantt he pain so bad its unbearable. The vet wil tell you if the legs are normal or not have luck

It's because her legs are so long. She is a cutie. She looks a lot like my chihuahua Bear who is going to have pups any day now.
