My daughter went off to college and left her 3 yr old min pin with us. My husband never has liked this dog, but as she has gotten older she has gotten better. She has doggie doors and can freely go in and outside at her leisure. Going in the house has never been an issue until recently. Now she does it all the time! We have racked our brains trying to figure out why she is doing this and have no idea. She went to the vet over a month ago and got all her vaccinations and was in good health, nothing major has changed, but she continues to do this even after she is punished. We now lock her in the garage when we go to bed or leave after multiple attempts to correct her behavior. We are at wits end and my husband is nearing the breaking point. Does anyone have any idea as to why this behavior may have started or any suggestions?

He is a border collie, 8 months old. He shows no sign of pain when flexed just a persistent limp. The vet sent the xrays off to an orthopedic vet. surgeon. He suggested we try glucosamine, moderate exercise and if he's not better in 1-2 months consider the surgery. He painted a gloomy picture of the surgery however and the difficulty of the recovery period for a puppy. I only want to do what is best for the dog and apparently from what I read if you wait too long the surgery is no longer an option. How do you make a decision like this?

Just a note to say thanks to all who seriously answered my biting puppies question....I have read about puppies behaviors to the person that was so rude, I just like to get different opinions and I think thats what this website is for..I have done all that was recommended to me already except getting the apple bitter spray...and will try that....As far as getting her spayed we will do so, we were in the process of breeding her professionally and had an unfortunate incident...I am not an irresponsible pet owner and have learned from this experience.....Thank you to those of you who wished me well with getting them new homes...I am hoping for them all to get the best homes with lots of love and attention.......

I have adopted a basset hound who is 1 year old. He was always kept outside so never potty trained. I want to keep him inside. Is it to late to try to potty train him? If not what is the best way to do so.

We adopted a puppy about a month ago and she is the sweetest thing, Loves people dogs, even cats. Does super in her obdience classes is picking up really fast, listens well. She is kind of a couch hog, trys to sneak up there. Hardley ever barks, she is about 14-16 weeks now. Also very laid back and intutive I was sick the other day and she would not leave my side followed me everywhere and slept by my bed.

They were dumped at the shelter so know ones knows what the might have been mixed with. (shelter said Sheperd but I think they just took a wild guess) We don't really care it has just been fun for us to guess and look up the diffrent types of dogs. My best guess is Boxer/ Lab. I would love to see what kind of guesses everyone else has. some characteristics not noticable in the photos are very webbed feet, slick super soft coat, black roof. She currently about 18lbs and very leggy thin muscular build

Help, I have 9 pups that do nothing but bite each other and everyone around them....I have lots of puppy chew toys, stuffed animals and other toys for them to bite on, but not working...and they play hard, almost to the point of fighting, but they are very loveable puppies they love to be loved and give love back....Want to break them of biting every part of a person they can get a hold of, before they get new homes...How do I try to break them? worried about hurting them in the process and then make them more aggressive....Please help....Will be getting new homes in about 3 weeks..do not want them biting everyone that comes to look at them....I understand they are pups and everything is new to them and maybe just exploring, but the biting has to mellow out....Thanks...Serious responses please...Breeders help would be appreciated....my pups are black lab/pit bull cross we think they are part pit bull...my dog got out when in heat...

While we are home our 10 month old shep/collie mix is so good, but when we put him in the finshed basement while we go to work or go out, he's so bad, chewing the door, or whatever else he can find. he has plenty of toys and treats, food and water. He even started pulling some panelling off the wall and chewed the floor up, which was ok cuz we were going to rip it up anyway.

My Female German Shepherd is fully house trained and was alwayfs a wonderful dog she was 1 yr 6 mths when she became pregnant (on purpose) and now she is nearing the end of her pregnancy and she has been having a lot of issues with going to the bathroom in the house. Is this something that usually comes with a pregnant dog or is this just her acting out against us for some reason?????????? Please help.

Hi everyone. A quick question for all you animal lovers out there. I have a 16 week old puppy (Jack russell/shetland sheepdog). She has had her boosters and is now ready to venture out into the great wide outdoors. The only problem is she blatantly refuses to walk on the lead, struggles furiously and wimpers. Does anyone have any suggestions other than dragging her along. All help would be appreciated. Thank you everyone xxx

She's 12 y/o, has never done this before. Moved to a brand new place ( with carpet ) and now she pees, when I'm home and when I'm not. Schnauzer/Cocker mix.

I only register my dogs if I intend to breed. The dog must show great potential. That being said, all of my other dogs requardless of their pedigree are fixed. I just recently registered a dog with the AKC on line for the first time. I have gotten so much junk mail and spam from them its disgusting. Has this happened to anyone else? I think its a disgrace!!!!!!!!

I am trying to figure out how long a mommy doberman's nipples will sag after she has puppies. I am scared that she will be one of those dogs whose nipples drag the ground and look like they're always pregnant. Is there anything you can do to keep them from hanging? Thanks in advance!

My Mini Schnauzer is 4 years old. He has terrible anger issues! I was wondering if that is caused by him still having all his "stuff".

9 month old mix. We got him at 3 mos from shelter. they said he was an Akita/lab mix. Looks so but also looks like he has some Pit in him. He will suddenly get very aggressive for ~30 minutes and then calm down. Normal? Problem? Solution? Thanks
