I only register my dogs if I intend to breed. The dog must show great potential. That being said, all of my other dogs requardless of their pedigree are fixed. I just recently registered a dog with the AKC on line for the first time. I have gotten so much junk mail and spam from them its disgusting. Has this happened to anyone else? I think its a disgrace!!!!!!!!

If you created an account with them, perhaps you forgot to deselect "send me updates etc" button. Go and edit your account and find out if that is the problem or contact AKC and put it to an end! BTW, don't EVER fill out any survey online! I learned that the hard way.

You don't register pet quality dogs???? So there is no way for them to show in obedience or rally or anything???
I get a monthly "newsletter" online from AKC...that is all. No other "spam" from them at all, and I do all my registrations online.
So, you don't register anything other than breeding dogs that are of "great potential"...but you don't show, so how would you know who is great potential and great potential for WHAT???

I get crap too. They sell our name to credit card and dog supply catalogs they might as well use the internet as well. Got to pay for their high dollar Madison Ave offices ya know.
