About 3 or 4 days ago our puppy had his 12 week rabies shot. Today I noticed a pretty good sized lump between his shoulder blades, right where they gave the shot. Is this what is suposed to happen? I am kinda worried about him. It looks painful!

ok... we have two dogs... a cocker spaniel(3 yrs old) and a black lab(1 yr old). we got the black lab after one of our other dogs died. so we brought home the lab and now the cocker has an awful temper.. and we give them equal treatment... but the temper is only towards the lab not to us.. the cocker will go after her even if the lab is laying there on the floor doing nothing.. we have to keep them in separate rooms or put the cocker in her cage when she attacks.... do u think there is something wrong metally with her?! is there anything we can do to prevent this? like we feed them in two different rooms so the cocker doesnt get protective of her food...

I've been researching (my dogs' coats are terrible with dandruff) Canidae, Wellness, Innova, and Natural Balance. Natural balance is what I'm leaning towards.

Does anyone have any positive or negative experience with this food?

I have an almost 3 yr. old Lab/Pointer mix and an almost 2 yr. old JRT/Beagle mix.

Thanks!

My dog is a black purebred standard poodle. He is eight years old and has had an almost constant ear infection in his right ear since he was a small puppy. We have had his ear surgically cleaned numerous times but the infection always returns, even if we treat it with drops and clean it daily. We have tried changing his diet also, but to no avail. We are considering having his right eardrum removed as a last resort to save him from the pain.

Does anyone know of a possible explanation/solution to his problem? I don't want to take out his eardrum but my mom says it might be the only way.

Does anyone know of a breeder or someone selling chocolate labs in the Gainesville, Florida area? I've searched on the net for breeders and labs for sale, but most either don't have any reasonably aged puppies, or want too much for a lab. I am looking for a male puppy (that is just off weaning...~8 weeks).

Just for the record: I do understand that purchasing a lab from a breeder will cost more money. I just don't think that $1,500 is a reasonable price to pay. =)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Twice now, my dog has keeled over, once after a coughing fit, and another time after a minor altercation with a smaller dog. Both times he collapsed and was still aware/breathing, but he could not move. This lasts for one minute, before he gets up and carries on like normal. We have taken him to the vet, but he only advises us to monitor it in the future. Any ideas? He is a one year old St Bernard?

im wondering why my dog is attacking her pups. this is her third and final litter of puppies. the other night we found one puppy with a large lump and bleeding from her head. this morning we woke up hearing a puppy screaming she had done something to this one as well. she seems remorseful later which she probably is. her puppies are no longer breastfed because they are almost 7 wks. im sure shes tired of them but she has never done this to any of her other puppies in the past

Just yesterday a pitbull ran loose in my complex and right in front of my back door, killed a cat! I absolutely love animals but now I am scared of this type of dog. It's apparent this owner raised this animal to be extremely vicious and this needs to end. I think more action needs to be taken against these owners. How can we make this incident never happen again?

we got our puppy from the local animal shelter. they were labled as "aussy shep / mix"

is there any way to figure out the "mix" part? she looks just like an aussy shep - black, naturally docked tail, merle spots on one leg. the only thing we can think of is MAYBE part border collie, just cause she has a longer snout (but she's only 5 months so she's still growing)

any ideas?

i'm trying to upload some pics to my website, but for now, know of any way to find out?
