Yes, that happens. In fact, my dog lost a little patch of hair from her last rabies shot and it hasn't grown back. That's ok, we love her just the same.
If your dog starts having facial swelling, redness around the mouth and other major allergic signs, call your vet and rush the dog in right away for treatment.
One of my dogs had a life threatening reaction to his last rabies. But he has other allergies as well and he was at the vet's when it happened so they were able to take care of him.
But, I'm just saying this so people remember to moniter their dogs closely after vaccinations.
The swelling will go down but it takes a long time. Usually 1-4 weeks for my dogs.

This can happen, but shouldn't. Keep a good eye on it and if it does not go down in a day or two, call your vet and let him know.
Some dogs have been known to get injection site cancer from the vaccines. You might want to get another vet. Vets were told in 2003 not to inject between the shoulder blades. It is a poor surgerical site. They have specific sites that they are to give each vaccine. The rabies shot should have been given in the hip.
Do some research on the net. Here's a site from Wisconsin University http://svmweb.vetmed.wisc.edu/articles/68/5/39
Here's another from a vet in Texas

Yes it is normal. I have a Pug and she gets a good size lump on her side to, every time she gets the shot. I asked the vet the first time I saw it and she said it would go away in time and not to worry. My Pug got her shot in August and she still has a lump. Not to worry, the first one went away.

Yes it can be normal and should subside in a day or so, if it starts to get biggeror hes in obvious distress then take him down to the vets as he may have just got an infection which will need to be drained and cleaned up and put on a course of anti biotics..

It's normal, but it's not what is supposed to happen. Many dogs have reactions to vaccines. Contact the vet to find out what you should do.

It is just a tender knot and it will resolve on its own. It happens often with puppies after vaccinations.

It is normal, and usually goes away in a few days..However, some do form cysts there, that have to be removed later..If it doesn't go away, it can be removed when your dog is neutered..
