I know a vet can tell me approx. how old he is but im curious to find out today....he has his adult k9s but just lost a puppy k9...the shelter I adopted him from said he was 1 year

Sounds like he may be around 9 months to 1 year old. That baby canine tooth may have been a hanger-on, called a "disiduous tooth." (These are baby teeth that don't get out of the way when the adult tooth moves in; sometimes the vet has to pull them.)

Your puppy is probably around 2 1/2 years old and that is 4 1/2 yers in doggy years. They can live up to 7-9 years old.

Puppies usually lose their last "baby" teeth by around eight mos. old. That age estimate is pretty close.

my dog lost his baby teeth when he was around 6-7 months old (golden retriever)

hard to tell he could even bit a bit over maybe 1.5 yrs...my dog is 2 yrs old and he still has two baby teeth...(double fangs)
