My neighbours have two small dogs in small cages outside their back door. They are kept there virtually 24 hours a day.
I work a lot in my garden and behind my house on DIY things and as soon as the dogs see or hear me they start this incessant high pitched barking. It's a lovely big garden but this spoils it.
It is driving me insane.
I feel sorry for the dogs obviously but the noise would drive anyone with any intelligence to heinous acts.
I tried speaking to one of their elder daughters ( 24 or so?) about it nicely but she stormed off refusing to acknowledge there was a problem saying it was because the dogs didnt know me and that was why they were barking.
It happens mainly only during daylight hours (7am- 7pm).

There is no RSPCA (animal welfare) in this country to report them to and she (the daughter) ignored my request to move the cage to the other side of the house.

What can you suggest to alleviate this sensitve problem?
Bear in mind I don't want to upset my neighbours

and if you never would euthanize an animal for any reason, keep it to yourself. i'm looking for reasons, not for general approval or disapproval of the act. so save the "that's so cruel!", and "how would you like it if someone killed you just because you got old or sick?" stuff, because it's not wanted here. and by the way, i hope they do put me to sleep once i'm too old and/or sick to enjoy my life. thanks in advance to everyone who answers sensibly.

So I need to make some money for my school trips that are quite expensive.

I'm thinking about dogwalking since I like dogs. But how should I do this all? Do you only walk people's dogs who are in your TOWN? and do you GO to the house and pick up there dog. or do they go to yours?? I know this substitute who lives close to my house.. she has a dog.. when I walk home from school I always see her walkingit.. shes always smiling when shes walking the dog. Should I ask her? And what if she says no...?

Does anyone have experience, ever been one as a buisness?

Given the advice from some of my other questions, I went to the PetSmart webpage to investigate certain issues for my dogs. Offhandedly I noticed a "doggy daycare", though it a cute idea, and checked it out. Imagine my shock to find that a major pet store practices breedisim... they will not accept *any* "bully breed" or any dog that looks like a bully breed. They have bought into and are *promoting* the bad rap against our beloved pets! here's the question: Do you not agree that this deserves a boycott?

My four year old westie, male, has a panic attack when I run the dishwasher. He gets as far away as possible from the dishwasher, starts breathing very heavily, and shakes a lot. I worry about him in this condition. He even panics a little when I open the dishwasher to put dishes in or take them out. Does anyone know of anything I can try? He is also scared of thunderstorms, but has a totally different reaction. He barks constantly in this high pitched bark. He runs around the house nonstop. This is really bad, especially in the middle of the night. Help needed before another storm blows through. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I recently adopted a 9 week old puppy (10 weeks this Saturday) and I wanted to know what your thoughts were on crate training. About half the information I read in books, online, etc. says that it is excellent while the other half thinks that it is cruel and inhumane. I agree that I don't want to confine my puppy because she's so upset and barks for hours on end but when I go to my classes, I don't want her to ruin anything within my room due to her jumping and excessive biting because of her teething. What do you guys think about crate training and what's the easiest way to crate train her? I appreciate all the help!

I don't trust the things by themselves, however, I have a fence (that my dogs can jump and I am not allowed to alter)... would the invisible fence be enough to stop their jumping? The have to "hold on" and sort of climb the fence to get over. Would the addition of the invisifence do the trick, or would it just be a waste of money?

Oh, and GetEmGang? your comments are NOT welcome.

I hear people say that pitbull should be banned as pets, but have they ever met a pitbull? I have never in my life of working with animals met a vicious pitbull or rotweiler. They are sweet animals and make excellent pets. They will love and protect your family. They just need to be loved in return and treated right and with care. If you raise him to be mean then he will be mean.
