I think he will. I have a red nose pit and when he was a puppy he was scared of everything. You couldn't get near him or he would roll over an pee on himself. It didn't take long after he got used to us that he was fine. Now you would think he was a vicious animal but he just has a big bark. And believe me he may not be scared anymore but he still isn't a bad dog. I didn't know how to really answer this question with all the pit bull haters out there that think they are all vicious animals.

Some puppies are literally afraid of everything....from car rides, to other dogs, to something as simple as a ball of paper rolling across the floor. What you need to do is gradually expose him to things he will be around his whole life. Things like children, loud noises, bathing, and other animals/pets. With anything that you're trying to introduce him to, never force him, and do it in small increments. For example if you want him to be used to children petting him, let them pet him for a few seconds at a time, and feed him treats while they're petting him, also tell him good boy etc. Patience is definitely key when introducing a puppy to new things. Have some patience and understanding, after all he's just a baby! :) Congrats on the new pup!

He needs some serious work with socialization. Enroll him a Puppy Kindergarten Class. Here he will learn basic obedience but also socialization with other dogs and people with will go a long way in getting him out of his shell. Start walking him where cars and trucks pass. If he gets frightened let him pull back but don't coddle him. After a while he will learn these things don't hurt him. You also could take him outside a petstore like Petsmart and encourage people to pet him and make a fuss over him. This also will socialize him. The best way to get him to be unafraid is to immerse him in what he fears because he will soon learn there is nothing to fear.

YES! my daughter wanted me to take care of her pit for a couple of weeks while she was moving, that was 7 years ago.it was afraid of it's own shadow,it was only 4 months old at the time.Don't force it to do something that it is scared to do,if you do the dog will be scared of you.It took me 1-2 years before my dog was confident in himself, since then he has taken on bears, badgers, moose because they got to close to me.he is the most smartest, disciplined dog I ever owned. He loves people and obeys everybody even little kids.I couldn't ask for a better dog.

You need to get him socialized now. If you don't have a dog park, take him to a park on a leash or walk him around people and espeecially children. Let others pet him and touch him. Otherwise, he will grow up fearful and mean.

Well:I have a dog whose afraid of just about everything. We dont really know what kind of dog she is, but she never outgrew it. I think maybe if you just try and show the dog its ok, and if the dog grows up with whatever its afraid of, it'll get over it. :] Good luck with it :]

in regards to your question it really depends on what has happened to him to make him so scared. However, if you are very patient and very gentle and show him so attention you should be able to get the puppy to trust enough not to be so scared!
