Pet shops will probably charge up to $400.00 for the pups. Do you really want them to go to families you don't screen first?
That's not being responsible at all. I have owned Cockers all of my life. People need to be informed of the Cocker personality and the health problems that can be associated with them.

You should get your dogs neutered or spayed and forget about using them to make money.

No one can tell you how much to sell the puppies for until they have a look at both parents and the puppies. Papers only prove that both the mother and father are of a certain breed. It does not prove quality breeding, etc.. In your situation, you are considered a back yard breeder. Back yard breeders are undereducated when it comes to breeding and have little knowledge of the responsibility of breeding. They are most interested in a little cash now and then and less interested in the welfare of all the dogs, puppies, mother and father. Pet shops are notorioius for under socializing their dogs. The animals are left unattended in the evenings and overnight. Usually, these shops are only opened six days a week and are also closed on major holidays, leaving the animals without care or food, clean water for that time period.
If you are breeding just to make money, then you are in the wrong business. Respectable breeders breed dogs, not for the money, but for the love of the breed of dog they raise. They never sell to pet shops (pet shops have a markup of up to 500%, so don't expect a lot of money from a pet shop). They have homes for their puppies before they even breed the parents. I don't know how much you would get for these puppies, but if you really want to make some money, you are better off finding private homes. Homes that will care for these puppies as members of the family.

I know you only asked a simple question, but your simple question poses a lot of problems for not just your dogs, but all dogs in this situation. You are contributing to the problem of unwanted and poorly bred dogs. I hope that one day you will be the solution to the problem instead. Dogs need people who can help them not become a disposable product with a price tag.

I wouldn't take your pups to a pet shop. Pet shops are notorious for not caring well for the puppies that they have what so ever.

Your pups have no registration, which means they are basically worth what you may have paid in their deworming and shots to this point, not much more than that.

Please take the time to find them appropriate homes and be sure they are going with families that are suitable. Otherwise there will be a great risk of them eventually ending up in a shelter if sent with unprepared families.

You'll probably get around $100 or so if the shop even wants them. These days they get their dogs from brokers. The brokers buy the dogs from puppy mills back east who mass breed and sell their dogs really cheap. If you do decide to take your pups to the pet shop, expect to have to put some of them down with broken legs. People are always dropping the puppies at the pet shops and breaking their legs. And you may loose some to Parvo or kennel cough from the other puppy mill dogs.

Giving your puppies to a petshop is irresponsible. A reputable breeder would NEVER do this. Do the pet-overpopulated world a favor and have your dog spayed. Do it for all the cocker spaniels that are killed in shelters everyday due to irresponsible breeding and irresponsible pet owners.

i really don't think a petshop is a good idea to bring your puppies to because usually petshops take a very poor job in taking care of puppies. petshops usually just leave them in a crate with some water in it, without sufficient exercise throughout the day. You should sell them to individuals, not to companies... Hope this changed your mind! :)

Informed and educated dog owners generally don't buy dogs from pet shops. Pet shops have a reputation for getting puppies from "puppy mills," substandard breeders with poor health practices. It would be better to put an ad in the paper to sell your puppies.

HI,

Well with out papers. They may only give you $75 for them. Cockers are so cheap with akc registration. So dont expect to much. Are you having trouble selling them locally and why a pet shop?

That's not a good idea. Petshop dogs can be stereotyped as puppy mill dogs. Are there local pet stores that you can post a flyer in? Then you can get full price for your bundles of joy.

It's not a question of how much to charge for them, it's a case of how much the pet shop is willing to pay. There is no shortage of backyard-bred puppies needing homes, so the shops won't pay a lot for them, especially if they're unregistered.
