I'd never leave my dog in a kennel. They don't understand that you're coming back for them in 3 weeks. I know way too many people that have had terrible experiences and their dogs were never the same afterwards. Couldn't you find a petsitter that would come to your home to play and feed them instead?

You might want to prepare them by having them spend one night there, sometime before the vacation This way they will know that the change isn't permanent, that they will go home again.
You can have them housed in the same pen or where they can see each other. If you think it will help, leave their own bed and a toy or two.
I had one dog that was extremely anxious. On the kennel staff's advice, I gave them the bed and toys to put into the kennel before they took the dog in, so it would look a bit like home when they took her there.
The main thing is, though, the kennel will take care of them and they will be safe until your return.

Research the kennel ... the first time I left my dog at a kennel he came back extremely traumatized. He was in a kennel where there was chain link between kennels versus solid walls. My next visit to a new kennel I asked for an individual room - this helped tremendously and he now loves going to the kennel.
Regarding toys - check with the kennel to see what can and cannot be brought ... I learned this the hard way and my poor Reiley could not have his favorite toy.

Tour the facility your dogs will be staying at.
Ask what kind of exercise, attention they will be receiving.
Leave a favorite toy or blanket with a familiar scent on it with them.
Realize that your dogs are going to be all over you excited when you return so don't get frustrated.
The workers at the boarding house should be used to different dogs and know how to handle separation anxiety. You should also be able to call any day to find out how your dogs are doing.

NAw all you have to do is from now till you leave get a couple of t-shirts or small towels or blankets and play withthe dogs and make sure they material touch you alot and it will leave your scent on teh material and when you leave make sure you take the materials you used and let them have it to play with it till you come back. Yea they know your not around but teh scent tells them you will come back for your materials and they will have them to remind them about you and will be waiting for you too. I did that on my dogs when I left for about a month and the people told me they didn't have any trouble with them. SO good luck on your trip and remember a dog will always wait for you not as much as a woman.

They will be fine. They do not think like a human, they are dogs. If you like take a favorite pillow or toy for them.

No, drugs aren't necessary. The kennel personnel should walk and play with the dogs unless you have no confidence in them. They should sleep the rest of the time when they''re not eating.
Drugs are unnecessary.

Give them a toy with your scent on it, or something that has a strong scent of you on it. That might help a bit.
