But for the last week whenever I go for a walk she comes down to the gate with me and runs home. She has never done this before. Could she be hurt? Why would she suddenly just stop, she loves to go for walks, she sits at the door and barks until we go, and then she turns around and runs home again. She seems to be fine every other way. She is 4 years old and still chews things up, so why would she just suddenly stop going for her walk with me?

can any human show more love and affection to you than your dog can.
i feel, when you have had the worst day ever, and everything and everybody is just a total bastard, you go home and see that look on your dogs face everything feels better.

(by the way, i dont have kids but have baby sitted a few times, dont take that into the equation too much, so this is really a question for people who are not parents!)

We recently took in a 10-yr-old yellow lab. He's crate trained, and he likes to spend his time in there - he probably spent most of his time in it before we adopted him. We've been trying to keep him outside more often, but after a little while he'll start barking to come in. He isn't barking AT anything, just to get our attention. My mom has recently been looking into buying an anti-bark collar for him, but we aren't sure which would be best.

While looking, my mom has found collars that shock, collars that make a super-high-pitched sound, collars activated by the dog's barking and those that are remote activated. Does anybody have any advice, feedback, or light to shed on the situation?

My dog seems to be hungrier since it has gotten colder outside. Do dogs need more food during the colder seasons than when it's warmer outside? She is an indoor, apartment dog, located in the mid-west. She gets moderate exercise.

my crazy old neighbor called me over when i got home and told me that my dog and been hit by a car? i guess she had been let out when i was gone but she shows no signs of being hit no scrapes no bleeding doesnt appear to have any sore spots or anything. the person that had let her out said they didnt see anything like that and they think that their would have been some sign. my neighbor is verry old and kinda seenile and like to gossip for attition. my dog has been known for getting out of the fence and getting back in.
what should i do i really dont have the money to take her to the vet to have them say she looks fine or here giveme 300. to give her a full body scan? should i just wait and take a chance of their beeing internal bleeding or take her to the vet 150 miles away because my vet is closed?

I have a 3lb chihuahua, she is 1yr old. She was spayed Friday came home Saturday morning, was doing well and happy to be home. Saturday was a good day for her we kept her calm as directed by our vet. Sunday when we got up we didn't get our usual happy greeting from her, she was acting or looking strange. She didn't want to eat I ytried all her favorites, she did take a little nutracal. Short time later started vomiting, then diarreah started was doing one or the other every 15 minutes or so. With her being so small I worried about dehydrating or a big drop in her blood sugar.. She was not doing well. We took her to the emergency vet, he gave her medication to settle her belly and sent us home. 30 min. later she was vomiting again and there was a good amount of blood in her stool, back to emergency vet, they kept her gave her IV fluids. We took her to our vet in the morning, she spent the day did well no more problems came home and the next day it all started again. What is wrong

We have two smaller kids in the house and he grabs stuff out of their hands.
He's constantly sniffing around and looking for food. I can't leave anything on the dining room table, or even things pushed way back on the stove.

It drives us crazy!!!! We have to put him in his "crate" whenever we eat, or leave the house.
When we are in bed at night he gets into the trash.
Sigh, we adopted him at a shelter, and he is a shy dog, he cowers and pee's if we yell at him......
We love him very much but want him to behave.

ok..... my dog got "got" on October 8th, I didn't even know she was in heat...(she doesn't bleed at all)

Her stomach doesn't really look any different, but when i lay her on her back and feel, it is really hard, and when i feel when she is standing she lets me feel for a min, and then nips at me and runs away......

can anyone tell me what i should watch for, I can't find any really good websites out there to tell me, just what to watch for in labor.

I know it takes approx 63 days, abut when will I know for sure, and when should I take her to the vet?

oh and she is a Mini American Eskimo about 10 pounds and she is 4 years old and healthy....

PLEASE don't lecture me about breeding my dog, I DIDN'T.... These things do happen... I just want some FRIENDLY advice.... Thanks : )
