I've tried for years, but here's what I think you should do. Show your parents how responsible you are. Help out around the house. Do chores. And make good grades at school. Once you have done all these, ask your family for a meeting. Point out everything you have done and tell them that you are ready and responsible enough to have another dog. If they said they will think about it, leave the subject alone and don't bother them about it. If they still have not given you a dog and you're birthday is coming up, put that on the list. Or Christmas... (Don't Forget to tell your parents why a cocker spaniel is good for you and make sure the dog fits your lifestyle. Don't just tell them the good things about a cocker, but also the bad things. But don't just stick to one breed, try other breeds or even mixed-breeds) I hope this works! Good Luck!

You don't. It's as simple as that. Puppies are a lot of work, and since your parents will be caring and paying for it and it's care-what they say is final, there is no need to convince them to get something they don't want. Get a job and save money. When you're old enough, move out and get into a place that allows dogs. Then you can get a puppy or dog. Owning a dog is expensive, owning a puppy is even more expensive and requires a lot of time. Something a minor that is going to school cannot give. Not trying to be rude, but it would be best to hold off to get a dog. Wait until you're really ready, there will always be puppies/dogs in need of homes-no need to rush into it. If you want contact with dogs-volunteer at your local shelter and/or walk neighborhood dogs.

The decision must unanimous Who feeds, who walks, who takes the dog to the vet, who bathes and grooms. Think about these as responsibility of pet ownership, are you able to fulfil these functions? Or do you need a little help? Don't get caught up about the things in life you WANT.

Your parents are financially responsible for everything when you are a minor. If they felt you were responsible enough and that the can financially handle another pet. I am sure they would consider your needs.

COCKER SPANIELS ARE GREAT SMALL DOGS. WHAT ARE YOUR MOMS REASONS FOR NOT GETTING ONE? IF SHE REALLY WANTS ONE, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CONVINCE HER?
