There is really no way to fortell when your dog will go into heat. I can tell you signs.
Usually their private areas will swell, and they will begin to discharge.
They pant a lot.
I noticed an increased intake of water, and more frequent urination. Enclosed is some sites.

Dogs go in heat twice a year. Basing the facts on my female dogs, they go once when they are 6 months. Every 6 months they have a cycle. There are somethings, known as Split Cycles were the female has her heat every three months. I had this problem with a young German Shepherd. She was from excellent bloodlines but because it was a hassel to keep her away from other males I ended up getting her spayed.
That is the best thing to do, a females blood's scent spreads bringing you more than welcomed stray males.

If you get her fixed, then of course she'll never go into heat.
Hoped this helped!!!!

P.S.
Congrats on the English Setter, I love and have about 4. Lassie, Duke, Black Jack and Zoey.

Usually dogs have their first heat when they're about 6 months old, and then have their heats every 6 months in succession after that. However, some dogs can have "split seasons" and come into heat every three months.

There is no truly accurate way to tell when your Setter will go into her next heat... Unless she's been spayed, and then the answer would be: "never".

No certain month for a female to start her heat cycle. Some females start their cycles at 7 months, but most are around 1 year old before they come into heat, then it is every 6 months with exception to some that come back into heat within 4 months.

Dogs typically come into heat every 6 months, 2 times a year. My advice, do not breed until she is at least 2 years old, cause dogs don't stop growing until two years. And I just breed my dog, she was only 1 year old and all of her puppies died, and the vet said it was because she was too young.

For a boxer it should be about 8 months old, sometimes the first time is not very noticeable, and some dogs can go over 12 months and still be quite normal.

Your dog will come season 2 year. She has or due to have 1st season about now. (12 months) Domestic dogs have 2 seasons, but wolf has 1 season.
