I have a 3lb chihuahua, she is 1yr old. She was spayed Friday came home Saturday morning, was doing well and happy to be home. Saturday was a good day for her we kept her calm as directed by our vet. Sunday when we got up we didn't get our usual happy greeting from her, she was acting or looking strange. She didn't want to eat I ytried all her favorites, she did take a little nutracal. Short time later started vomiting, then diarreah started was doing one or the other every 15 minutes or so. With her being so small I worried about dehydrating or a big drop in her blood sugar.. She was not doing well. We took her to the emergency vet, he gave her medication to settle her belly and sent us home. 30 min. later she was vomiting again and there was a good amount of blood in her stool, back to emergency vet, they kept her gave her IV fluids. We took her to our vet in the morning, she spent the day did well no more problems came home and the next day it all started again. What is wrong

you should check to make sure that your vet is real
my vet was a fake and he didn't have a license and he neutered my dog and my dog did the same thing and then when he would sit down he started bleeding out of nowhere so we took him to the vet and he did nothing about it and then we took him to another one and he fixed my dog right and months later we found out he was a drug dealer that gave people dog drugs or something like that it was very creepy i suggest you check out the vet and make sure hes legal

Did either vet clinic do any testing to determine the cause of the gi upset? There can be several reasons, such as medication, underlying kidney or liver disease, etc. Did they do any bloodwork or xrays?
I think that the key is going to be finding the reason for the problem. Is she on any medication? Did she get any medication after surgery that could have caused the problem? Did she get any food after surgery that she does not normally get, to spoil her a bit for what she went through?
I think that she may require several days of hospitalization, while you figure out what is going on. Good luck, and I hope she does well!
And to the person above me who recommended suing the vet, good luck. There are NO guarantees that even routine surgery will be without problems. Some things are unforseeable. If you find out the cause of the problem and it is truly caused by neglect or malpractice, then sue. Otherwise, forget it. You won't win. And it won't help your pet.

I would suggest you get a second opinion. Ask your friends/neighbors where they take their pet to and how they like them... It could be an allergic reaction to something or they could have left a sergical tool inside her... I know sounds weird but it happens. Either way have her checked out by a different vet and have some tests and x-rays run. My mom's beagle just got spayed and she was vomiting for the first day (from the anesthsia) but was better the next day... It shouldn't be this long... Good luck!

Call the vet who did the surgery and get her records from the emergency vet who treated her this weekend. Take her to the vet that did the surgery. Don't think problem is normal.

whats she eating in your house? have you put anything new on the floors, new furniture? new foods? did she get ahold of any people food? if she's doing alright at the Vet, then maybe, just MAYBE, she's getting a reaction to something in the home, did you change detergents? fabric sheets, do you have ANY kind of poisons around the house for roach's, rats...anything? Try boarding her at the Vet's for a couple of days, just long enough to get her past this stage of post-surgery....it's not good for her to have diarrhea and vomiting like that, she could pull an internal suture.....

My dogs kicked the bucket till now the Vet might want to do a pravo try on him. I distinctly trust that's what he gotten smaller. only a caution to a absolutely everyone that's a amateur to having a puppy, distinctly a domestic dog. make certain your domestic dog recieve all his/her vacinnations till now you're taking him outdoors even as quickly as. signs and indications of pravo consists of diarrhea, vommiting, lethargy, lack of urge for nutrients. AM no longer fairly particular even as my domestic dog gotten smaller this notwithstanding it took away his existence. there's a 25 p.c. probability once a domestic dog settlement pravo for him to live to inform the tale. in case you word those signs and indications as we talk take him to the Vet. Shamefully and regrettably I waited till the subsequent morning to take him to the Emergency Vet. A domestic dog elect gigantic volume of care and interest, you need to be acquainted with at least one till now you purchase one as a puppy. i wish this may advance awareness to those who're no longer time-honored. situation respiration is likewise an illustration of cardiac Pravo my domestic dog confirmed indications of that still.
