my crazy old neighbor called me over when i got home and told me that my dog and been hit by a car? i guess she had been let out when i was gone but she shows no signs of being hit no scrapes no bleeding doesnt appear to have any sore spots or anything. the person that had let her out said they didnt see anything like that and they think that their would have been some sign. my neighbor is verry old and kinda seenile and like to gossip for attition. my dog has been known for getting out of the fence and getting back in.
what should i do i really dont have the money to take her to the vet to have them say she looks fine or here giveme 300. to give her a full body scan? should i just wait and take a chance of their beeing internal bleeding or take her to the vet 150 miles away because my vet is closed?

It always better to be safe than sorry. Animals don't always show signs of being in distress like a human does. You have to live with your own decision I understand about the money. We have 3 dogs couldn't imagine being in your shoes. God bless I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good luck

There is a very real chance your dog could have internal injuries. If your vet is closed on a Wednesday afternoon, I'd suggest getting a new vet.

I know it's hard to justify spending the money to have them tell you she's fine... but on the other hand... how horrible will you feel if you dont take her and she doesn't wake up in the morning? Are there other neighbors you can ask who might have seen or heard anything? Maybe try asking the neighbor some details... what color was the car, what did the person look like, etc. Ask the same question a couple times... if she can keep her story straight then I'd say it's probably true.

If nothing else, at least CALL the vet (or A vet) and ask them what to watch for etc. I hope she's okay!!

I would keep an eye on your dog for about a day or two. Make sure shes not acting weird, eating differently, watch her going to the bathroom, pay attention to everything that your dog is doing and make sure theres nothing out of the normal, if theres no signs your dog should be fine, if you notice anything different then you might want to pay the money and have your dog checked out.

you need to take her, it may seem like a waste of money, but internal bleeding can be deadly if not stopped in its tracks, if you want go ahead and wait till your vet opens, you may also wanna talk to other neighbors tho to see if they know anything other than the crazy lady, alot of dogs will act fine due to no injury they can feel but i would take her just in case, id hate for you to say " well she seems fine" and then she passes away in a couple days when it could have been prevented!!!!

hope the best for your pooch, good luck!

Take the dog to the vet just to be safe. For about $30 you vet will do a quick physical and let you know if anything seems out of place. Its better to take the precaution!

Generally if she is running around, playing and eating like normal they are fine. If an animal is sick or injured especially that type of injury they would definetly let you know. Just keep an eye on her tonight and make sure she doesn't show signs of injury~ whining, yelping, not wanting to move, not eating or drinking those sort of things.
I wouldn't get to worried about it though.

You should take her in... a reasonable vet shouldn't charge you so much. My vet only charged me $38 for that type of exam. If your vet does charge more see if you can get a payment plan but definitely take the dog in...you could really risk her life.

why is your vet so far away? would you go to a dr that was that far away?

press on its belly, keep an eye out for bruising, if it had internal bleeding you'll find out easily. there are emergancy vet clinics, we had to use one once at 4am when our dogs eye popped out. you should look into that just in case.

Massage her body all over to check for any sore points. It sounds like she is fine cause if she had internal bleeding she would not be acting normal.

Fix the fence! Make a secure lock. Like a numeric lock that has the dial or the roll a number one. Geesh! Your not a good dog caretaker, knowing she/he gets out while you are away.
