I want a dog food that doesn't attract any insect of any kind and small enough for my small breed pet to eat from. what type of food can you suggest?!

Eukanuba is NOT a good quality food. Neither is Iams, Science Diet, Purina, Pedigree, etc. When are people going to learn that advertising does not result in a good quality product.

If you want a good food you need to actually do a bit of research.

The healthiest pet food on the market right now is in my opinion Innova (made by natura) followed closely but Wellness, Canidae, Fromm, Evolve, Merrick, Solid Gold, Wysong, etc.

And the best part...these foods cost the same as foods like Eukanuba because the company actually invests their money in quality and NOT ADVERTISING.

Here are the ingredients of Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy:
-CHICKEN (okay, but this should say chicken meal or followed by chicken meal in the list)
-CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT MEAL (this is chicken feet, feathers, organs, beaks, everything not fit for human consumption. Because chicken meal is not the first ingredient...this is the main ingredient in the food...disgusting)
-CORN MEAL (corn should never be in dog food...it is a cheap filler with no nutritional value)
-FISH MEAL (fish is good but it should state what type...the company only lists "fish" if it is hiding or doesn't know the actual type in the food)
-WHOLE GRAIN SORGHUM (this is a cheap filler that dogs cannot digest)
-CHICKEN FAT (okay)
-BREWER'S RICE (this is just a rice fraction, meaning the good part has been removed for humans...this has no nutrition value and is therefore just a filler)
-DRIED BEET PULP (this is another filler that often causes digestive problems in dogs.)
-DRIED EGG PRODUCT (this is the shells and eggs not fit for human consumption)
-SALT (salt should never be in dog foods)

This food is actually quite disgusting. For any of you who said that Eukanuba and/or Iams is the best....you are so misled. Eukanuba and Iams are made by Proctor and Gamble which is a mass market company out to make a profit. Do you really think they care if they're making your dog sick?

Now, take a look at Innova which is by far a superior product and costs the same. Oh, and it's made with ONLY human grade, fresh ingredients.

Innova Puppy:
-Turkey
-Chicken
-Chicken Meal (top three ingredients human grade meat...this is exactly what you want....and no by-products)
-Ground Barley
-Ground Brown Rice (brown rice and barley...two of the best grains you can have in a dog food)
-Cottage Cheese (great source of calcium for a growing puppy)
-Tomatoes (great for cancer prevention and packed with vit/mins)
-Sunflower Oil (one of the best sources of fats for dog foods)
-Chicken Fat (okay)
-Natural Flavors
-Flaxseed (this is an excellent source of Omega 3 and 6)
-Potatoes (easy to digest source of carbs)
-Herring (specific type of fish)
-Apples
-Carrots
-Alfalfa Sprouts (fruits and veges are a must in a high quality dog food for a healthy life free of disease)
-Egg (the BEST source of protein)
-Garlic (great for health...also a natural bug repellant)
-Chicory Root Extract
-Taurine
-Vitamins/Minerals
-Viable Naturally Occurring Microorganisms (these are killed off in most foods when cooked...Innova has them added on after the cooking process to ensure that your dogs digestive system stays healthy)

Okay, so do you have any questions as to which of these foods is better? It is so obvious but all too often people will not look past the "poor" advice of their vet or the newest commercial on tv. Just because you see ads for McDonald's doesn't mean it's healthier than eating fresh chicken and vegetables from the local farm which aren't advertised.

Here's my motto....if you see something advertised all over the place ask yourself "why?". If it was a really great product it would probably sell itself!

Royal Canin indoor adult for Mini breed dogs is very good. The kibble is very small and thin; easy to chew. My chihuahua love it. It is a good meat based food. Royal Canin also makes a chihuahua food but the kibble is not as small as the indoor mini.
Nutro Ultra is good and is soon to have a mini bite version of it.
Ultra has lamb,chicken and salmon.

Considering that a standard Chihuahua weighs no more the 6 pounds, one weighing 53 pounds would be dead! Go and do your homework and leave the people here to serious questions.

I just bought Eukanuba and there are no ants in my bag. I bought it because I heard it was the BEST dog food to give your dog... it has all the right amounts of fats, proteins, vitamins, etc. I have a 4 month old mini dachshund. Maybe you should get one of those air tight containers to store it in...

You need to put your puppy food in a sealed container and feed him regularly. go with royal canine it works best for me or nutro. i've used all types of dog foods and royal canine seems to make my dog's coat nice and shiny. oh... mix half soft food/dry foods at first if it's eating wet food. always try to feed it dry foods. and wet foods once in a while as a little treat.
okee good luck

Iams puppy formula is the best. If you live in the south the ants are bad and you may have to buy a plastic container with a lid. The ants won't get it then.

you can stick with the ukanuba. instead of keping the food in a bag, put it in a clothing tote or a large container that you can put the whole bag into. i keep mine in a old clothing tote. they also have bowls that you can order out of the Jeffers magazine. 1-800-Jeffers.
