We have a 10 month old Pekingese that is pregnant. She went through 2 cycles and we missed the beginning of the second, so she became pregnant. I am worried that she is too young. Anyone know or have experience in this?

I have a 7 year old great Dane that has a little bit of a bladder problem. We haven't changed her diet at all. Sometimes when she sleeps she'll urinate just a little. SOmetimes when we bring her back inside she'll also leak a little going upstairs.
We havent brought her to the vet yet but wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this problem. I'm away from home right now and hoped I could give my wife a few things to try until I can get home and take her to the vet.

Do both parties need to sign a contract? Are there any sample contracts available on the web? Does a stud fee get paid before or after the "studding" occurs?

our pet dog just died suddenly. He was up and jumping around with no probs when all of a sudden he fell to the side and lay dead. The only symptom that was displayed was that his normally brown/blck eyes went bright green before it became normal again. Next his tongue went black...

i thought it was rat poisoning but doesn't rat poisioning induce bleeding of somesort and lethargy over several days...

does anyone know why this is?
thank you very much,

We shampoo our dog (german shepherd mix) every week with flea shampoo and put flea stuff on once a month. She has started to itch A LOT today (bathed her yesterday). She does not have flakes and her fur is so thick its hard to tell if she has fleas. She is scratching constantly. How do you tell the difference and what can we do to help her?

Please don't bother answering if your gonna be a nob.

Im serious - he has a really bad habit and it's getting annoying. He just leaps up when I am sitting on the sofa and licks my face - if I pick him up he licks my arm! It's so annoying!

when we got our dog, we didnt get her papers, she is a japanese akita, and we kinda sorta rescued her from a not so good home, she wasnt eating and wasnt being taken for walks, but we have been approached by another japanese akita owner wishing to breed with us, if we were to do so and sold the puppies, would we get in to bother for doing so even if we havent got papers? the ither owner has papers though.

She is no where near a place where I have to put her to sleep but how far should I let her arthritis get before it is time to start thinking about it. I keep hearing quality of life but what does that mean. I have been to the vet and I have medication but I know she is not going to be as healthy as she used to be. I just do not want to be one of those people that let their dog suffer. I have purchased a bed for her to help but she stays on it all the time.

Near my working place, there is a dog which a few times turn agressive towards me (not sure why. I never disturb neither bother the dog before). How to prevent this from happening? I heard about paper spray, etc, but if I use that, will the dog become more aggressive next time as he will want to take revenge?

i have 2 dogs and one is getting significantly old. [i dont know exactly how old since i picked her up off the street and now loves being a pet]. shes very sweet to me and my family and weve had her for a very long time. however, she is TERRIFIED of anyone else! she wasnt like this when she was younger but i guess with age she feels that she can no longer defend herself? my bf visits me all the time and loves dogs and plays with the other dog i have...but my old dog is TERRIFIED OF HIM. even though he gives her treats, tries to pet her...stays low to the ground...helps me walk both the dogs....HELP! how do i or my bf convince this stubborn old dog that my bf isnt going to hurt her!?!

I've never seen a dog do this before. We dont cut them because he runs around and files them on his own, also because he hates it when we try. Hes chewing on them himself though, and chipping them in half.

I just invested in a German Shorthair about 3 months ago and now shes 6 months old. I know these dogs are hyper and like to do their own thing, but I dont really want to invest too much money yet in a fence yet because its almost winter and she probably wouldnt be out much. I have tried to walk her with a leash, but I just dont want her getting into trouble because she has already been chased around town a few times already and I dont want to give up on her. My deceased dachshund never had a problem with taking off in the neighborhood, at least not to the point of taking off a block away, of course he had some fence training at an older house, but we didnt really have to train him much at this house. Some simple cheap tips would be helpful or any other device that really works well with this will help.

I would like to get a german shepherd and a golden retriever, but I do not know if these breeds would even get along. If they can live together, which puppy should I get first? Should the german shepherd grow up with the retriever or vice versa? I have had a GR before and she was the love of my life, but I am looking for a guard dog so that's why I figured a GR and GSD would be the perfect match for me, I'm just not sure they'd be a match for each other. Any opinions would be much appreciated, thanks!
