how can i shorten my dogs life span?

my dog is 4, i love him and all but i really only want him 4 another 4 years and i'm not willing to give him away or abandon him, i don't want 2 kill him myself, can i get him put down if theres nothing wrong with him or can i just feed him bad food over time so he'll die sooner

No you cant get an animal put down if there is nothing wrong with them, the vet will refuse to do it.
If you feed the dog bad food it will become unhealthy and ill but may not die immediately, you will just have to look after it more and probably spend money on vets bills - although you probably wont be bothered to do that. How can you say that you love the dog and are unwilling to give it away if you are prepared to submit it to a probably long and painful death?
I agree with what most of these answers have said - you are unfit to have an animal.
I suggest you give it away to a better home and people who are willing to look after the dog properly when you have 'finished' with it.

You mean vicious silly prat. Self-centred, I can not think of enough words. Put the poor thing up for adoption NOW so it can live out its natural life in good health. You must be a right foul prat!
My elder dog is 11, and ever year gets better and better! Both dogs have the best care, both vet and food, and a lot of love.
I repeat, find a no kill shelter, tell them Dr. Charles James advised you to give your dog up and why. Someone should report you to the authorities. In effect you are wanting to murder your dog slowly, that is foul, foul, foul. That poor dog must think the world of you, would love you, and die to protect you and everyone in your household.

feeding your dog bad food will not makes his life shorter? Any one with a brain would no that. You dont deserve a pet people like you are evil and shouldnt have a pet. Lets just hope that its you who only makes the next four year, about time justice was brought into the animal cruelty would.

Erm Belinda, why would you want to shorten your dog's lifespan??

Any good vet will not put a healthy dog to sleep. I realise that you do not wish to have your dog re homed but, one has to ask, maybe he'd be better off with someone who'll look after him properly until he comes to the end of his days naturally?

There is no shame in admitting that you no longer want a dog but feeding him bad food in the hope of killing him off in 4 years time is very shameful indeed. Do the decent thing and put him up for adoption.

You should give the dog away to Dogs Trust where he can have a better owner and more true love. That is what he deserves

If you love your dog like you say you do, the kindest thing for your dog would be to find him another good home now. That would be the best thing to do so that he would have at least 6 years of good quality life in a home that would love him unconditionally.
