If you mean Continental Kennel Club, reputable breeders would not be interested in using your dog at any price. ConKC papers are meaningless.

Should be nothing but maybe a 6-pack. CKC is a made up registry. If you have the cash, they will register it. So, basically, it is a non-registered dog.
Stud fee are only paid after the litter is on the ground. And only if there are at least 2 live puppies. No puppies, no stud fee. One puppy, no stud fee.
And for the whiners above.......there may be reasons you cannot get ACK papers, or have lost them or whatever!! Why would that mean you should register with a "fake" registry??? AKC charges more because you GET more. Shows, titles, clubs, stud books, proof of parentage.........CKC gives you none of that. Just a "registration". Anyone could start a registry tomorrow. Does that make it a good one????? Do you ever wonder where all the registration money goes at the CKC???????????? I guess it is a real bargin though!!!!!!!!!

Definitely, have both parties sign the contract. That way there is no confussion.
Fees vary, it is a point to be agreed upon "well" prior to any mating. I normally charge 1/2 the cost I would expect to make from the sell of a puppy, as I do not have the higher expense of caring for the dam and litter.
The stud fee is agreed upon prior to mating and usually is paid in advance.
Normally each breeder will have their own personal contract that relates to them and their dog.
If you would like to see an example of my stud contract, please email me, you do not allow messages, but I would be happy to let you examine my contract.
It might give you some ideas to form your own contract.
NOTE TO SHANE: There are several cases that an owner is unable to get AKC papers on an AKC registered dog. In those cases the Continental Kennel Club is a viable alternative.
Death of a previous owner, lost papers, dogs kept by one spouse after divorce (with the other not releasing the papers) So just because your dog happens to be registered with CKC does not automatically make it an inferior quality animal.

Which CKC? Canadian Kennel Club or Continental Kennel Club? The Continental Kennel Club was invented so people could register puppies that the AKC won't register. It's a common tactic for puppy mills to offer some sort of registration. I personally wouldn't breed any puppy with that registration, as it's next to worthless.

Continental kennel club is a scam. take a look on their web site, to "register" a dog all you have to do is have two people sign an affidavit saying they are purebred. does that sound reputable to you? Also take a look at their "breeder referrals" many of them are clearly puppy mills. I suspect that the answerer's who are defending this "club" have dogs under this "registry" and do not want to believe they have been gullible. just stick with the AKC.

usually it is the price of one puppy. the fee is paid at the time of service. you want to make sure that they mate (stuck together) 3 times to make sure she will be pregnant. this is how ive alway experienced the studding situation...good luck
note to 1st response:
CKC isnt a bad registration. there are several instances that CKC is used for other than just not being able to reg. through AKC. in my opinion theres not a real difference except they dont charge an arm and leg to reg. through them.
