I'm thinking of breeding one of my Chihuahuas (Either my Cream and white (possible merle genes) or a pure black) to have to joy of puppies in my life. Of course, I already have plans, and owners, plus plan to get them CKC registered too. I'm just wondering if there is any way (other then the gene tree thing I completely don't get after studying it for a while) or should I rely on what I know about both my girls littermates and parents?

My black one came from a huge litter of five puppies. She was the only black, a solid with white on her chest. She had one blonde sister and brother, that were her size (3.5 pounds at 4 months), a brother that was much bigger then her that was white with chocolate spots, and a tiny little brother that weighs in at half her size, that is a dark brown fading into black at the hair tips. Her mom was a black and tan, and her dad was a longhair blue. What a mix!

My other came from a litter of three. She was the only cream. Her two sisters were (continued..)

Hey everyone I am thinking about getting a dog..first time owner...well I live in a one bedroom apt on the third floor so I want to make sure I can keep said dog happy so even though I would like a larger dog I know I should not get one. But what kind of dog do you think would sound right? Please I don't want a dog smaller than a gerbil so don't suggest one of those small fries. Thanks!

I have two dogs and a two cats and have never had a problem with fleas. However recently my cat has been getting outside and she brought them in the house. My large dog literally has soars and scabs on him from biting so hard and my small cat has the same. I have bathed all of them repeatedly in flea shampoo. What do you think would be the best remody?

My dog had puppies 16 weeks ago. I sold one of the puupies to a friend of mine 8 weeks ago. She had to go out of town and asked me to babysit her puppy. I have had him since Wednesday but the night before she dropped him off at my house he had some sort of attack like a seizure or something. She told me about it and I took him to the vet the following day. They did not find anything wrong with him but then late last night, I heard him fall from the doggie bed (about three inches off the floor). I quickly got up and turned on the light to see him convulsing on the floor (as if he was running in place on his side, eyes wide open, making a weird wimpering noise). I immediately gave him a small amount of nutrical. After his "attack" he was extremely hungry and ate all of his food and then wanted to eat all of my dog's food as well. Could this be seizures or low sugar?

I am contemplating a breeding that will involve a dog out of the US. What type of cost can I expect to encounter as far as having the AI done? Not including the stud fee and materials fee.

I have done a LOT of research on the breed of dog I want (Golden Retriever). I understand that they are very active, need a lot of grooming and bathing and I know that they can get expensive (just like any other breed of dog). I have been going on 30 minute walks each day to proove that I will walk him/her each day. I have some pocket money that I will use to buy it's food, toys, crate etc.
I know that dogs are a very big responsibility.

My dad doesn't mind wether I get a dog or not, as long as I look after it, which I will. My mum just want's to make sure that I know what I am getting myself into. 10-13 years of walking each day and loving this dog with all my heart.

I am turning 13 soon and I don't do many things after school so once I get home, I will be able to take him/her for a walk.

Any advice on how else I can proove to my mum, that I am responsible enough to get a Golden Retriever?

X rays didn't show anything, abdominal surgery showed only part of intestine was blue, when the vet moved it it turned pink, didn't find anything else. Considering costly MRI or CT. He seems depressed, lacks motor skills, stumbling, bad breath, fever, sensitive around neck and head. Came on over night. No vomitting or diarrhea. 12weeks old

My dog is on his last tread of hope. I have a dog thats about a year old and he loves trash. there are 5 adults in the home & all are on different schedules. mom is very ill has many diseases and gets sick easily. bro and sis are at college & husband & wife work. the dog gets attention all hours of the days, but for the breif moments when no one is watching, causes hell. we are tired of punishing him for digging in trash, have tried the crate way, heavy trashcans with coveres, sprays, filling trash with peppers, everything we have herd of or have been told to do. have had him for almost a year and cant stand the daily routine no longer. today he got into the upstairs bathroom and strone bloody pads from my sis in law all over the place. he tore them up in the kitchen, mother in laws, and downstairs living rooms. my husband said hes done with this dog because hes too messy and just wont get it. trainers didnt work 4 long either. vet said the dog is fine health wise. what should i do???
