answer, when you break up with someone you tell them you dont want to break up. your ex may have some questions, and then you will have answers. If he asks why just be truthful, you care for him, but no connection.

Depends on your situation. Just explain to him why you don't want to be with him. And be honest. When I broke up with my X I wanted to know the truth, that way I could change. Maybe for her, maybe to be a better person overall. He still deserves to know, and no matter what he can't make you date him, so when you say its over he has to understand.
