I know it's a mix breed, so please do not tell us that we are getting a mutt..... we know. We would like to locate a litter in Ohio. Hopefully we can get them from someone with a loving/clean home. The last place we went to was a complete dump.... it seemed they just want to make money... please help... we want to buy our dog from someone who really cares about the dogs... even though they are mixed breeds

Thanks for all the quick answers on my prevoius question! I feel a lot better about the situation now.
A few more things... Earlier today, I made a vet appt for tomorrow. They said they will test her feces (which I don't understand,- I knowshe has a tapeworm) and give her a prescription. I read on a bunch of websites that the OTC treatments did not work for tapeworm, however, people on here are telling me that they do. I don't know if I should go to the Dr, or just buy Praziquantel. If I do go to the doctor, is there a test for heartworm? People are telling me she might be prone to it...
When she takes the medicine, how will I know that the worm is completely gone? Is there any physical evidence?
Also, I have another dog. He is 2 years old, and the two are inseperable, How can I prevent him from getting the worm? I know that I should clean up after the infected one right away, but any other tips? Thanks again!!

I have a 21 month old chihuahua/terrier mix . She has been chewing things lately. I came home yesterday and she had chewed my blush brush, a bottle of face cream, a tube of lipgloss, a hair brush, and one of my husbands socks. I have come home a couple of times and she has chewed a tube of neosporin, cat toys, paper, you name it. She has her chewies and bones and toys which are easily accesible to her when we are not at home. Why is she doing this and what can I do to make her stop. I don't want to put her in her crate all day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY)

i have a shepherd/terrier mixed puppy that is almost 1, he's about 75 to 80 lbs. Recenty he has become very aggressive towards me. he runs full force at me, jumps and trys to nip my wrists and forearms, sometimes he bruises. he also will jump in my lap and start barking at me, very aggresive behavior. he rarely barks at other dogs or shows any hostility. he's fine w/ my husband actually ducks his tail when he's around- i guess it's the alpha male thing going there. he has no formal training, he is nuetered, and i'm sure he doesn't get quite enough exercise as i work a lot and my husband doest like to walk him. i absolutely love my puppy, but if i can't even pet or play with him, what should i do? Any suggestions on what to do to make him less agressive or back they way he was at 6 months wld be very helpful.

Thanks

I am worried about her. my husband picked her up from the vets after he was called, and she was still pretty much out of it, when she came home she got on my bed and went back to sleep, I come home from work at 6, and she was out side, as she can let herself out, but the strange thing is, she crawled way in under my deck where I can't get to her and will not come, or have anything to do with me, it is cold and raining out, and I think that she is dry enough, but what is going on with her? she and I are very close and she never leaves my side, what are your thoughts please....I don't need any wise remarks back, just professional thoughts. Is she in pain?

help! our soon to be 11 year old shepard has torn her crucial ligament in her back left leg, today it's that bad she's not even putting any weight on it at all. we've taken her to the vet and because of her age he's unsure about the recovery for the surgery. does any one have any advice or suggestions that we can do to try and help her? Mum doesn't want to put her down but the vet seems to think that the recovery period for after the operation will be a extremely long one and may not be sucessful becasue of her age. She's still full of life and run and plays with our younger whippet. Any advice would be muchly appreciated!
Thanks
Jess

I have a 12 yr old Mtn Curr. She's a happy healthy outdoor dog, and seems to still respond well to sight and sound, but I've noticed lately that her eyes seem to be getting cloudy. She's seeing ok, but isn't that cloudiness kind of normal in older animals? I remember an old pony I had developing the same characteristics .
