I have a 12 yr old Mtn Curr. She's a happy healthy outdoor dog, and seems to still respond well to sight and sound, but I've noticed lately that her eyes seem to be getting cloudy. She's seeing ok, but isn't that cloudiness kind of normal in older animals? I remember an old pony I had developing the same characteristics .

Friendly Hello,

I would not worry much about this cloudiness. This is very common in older animals. Blessings, Kelly

Dogs most often get historical age similar cataracts. The vets by and large don't do whatever on account that on account that by the point the puppy has them he's too historical to make it beneficial to do a surgical procedure that may price $2000 according to eye and is harmful for the puppy. Please understand that the majority puppies are rather competent to get round simply first-rate in spite of those cataracts. They use their noses, their reminiscence of wherein matters in most cases are and their peripheral imaginative and prescient.

i have nine dogs and three cats in the house. its natural to a dog specially if he/she is old., dogs are like humans, the older they are, the less eye sight they have. in fact two of my dogs eyes are cloudy but still they can identify, tho cloudy eyesight they have a strong senses of smelling. dont worry about that. what hurt most is when they're gone./leave you, it breaks my heart so much, i cried.

Sounds like catarracts. At this age there isn't much point in getting them removed as the op would be a bit of a shock to her system. Ask your vet for further advice.
