i have just heard that if dogs eat sweet stuff it can make them go blind?

It's not true that it'll make them blind. However foods like chocolate is very bad for them.
Chocolate contains theobromine that is toxic to dogs in sufficient quantities. This is a xanthine compound in the same family of caffeine, and theophylline.
The good news is that it takes, on average, a fairly large amount of theobromine 100-150 mg/kg to cause a toxic reaction. Although there are variables to consider like the individual sensitivity, animal size and chocolate concentration.

OMG, does that make any sence at all? no i didn't think so im a dog luver and have grown up with dogs, been with them my whole life, none of them have gone blind! but um well, im not sure about the chocolate thing cause i gave my dog chocolate like once in a while, and he lived to be 15! so um, nothings really proven about that i don't think, just don't feed it to your dog too often.. bye

Totally false. However it eventually can turn your dog diabetic which in turn does cause blindness, kidney, and liver failure. You should NEVER give your dog people food, process foods like cheeses, breads, and some meats can cause cancer. The only people food you should ever give your dog is fresh fruits (not citrus) and veggies once in a while and steamed rice when they're sick. My German Shepherd would sell her soul for an apple.

Never heard that one before!! lol It's not true. Chocolate is deadly to them and as a general rule you don't want to give your dog lots of sugar as it's not good for their spleen and can cause diabetic problems. People food is good for dogs as long as it's not greasy or cheap junk food. Raw meat is the best for them as are raw fruits and veggies. No grapes or raisins though.

sweets? blind? i don't know i heard its not good for dogs but i don't know why and I've heard chocolate can kill a dog too...who knows just don't do it that solves the issue

Not true, at least not directly. But sweets aren't good for them either.
Now, the thing you must never never never give your dog is chocolate- especially dark chocolate.

No, they love sweets, but you should never give it to them. No people food. And that's really hard to not do.
