I adopted a three year old half yorkie, half maltese that will not eat anything except table scraps. I got her about 5 days ago and she has had no shots. Is it safe to give her table scraps, and if not how can I get her to eat dog food? Please help?

I breed Japanese Chin and have come across something in the last few minutes with which I have NO experience. I have a friend's female Chin; she delivered last Sunday. She should have never been bred, in my opinion, as all but 2 of her nipples are inverted. The puppies have been able to manage thus far with some assistance (me lightly pinching the nipples up every 2 hours so the pups could get the proper mouth positioning on them).

We were out a few hours today. When we came home (a couple of hours ago), she'd had diarrhea; however, she was fine in that regard earlier. I cleaned her and the baby room up and put the puppies on to nurse.

I just went to get her to take her out and, when i brought her back in and helped her to adjust and was helping the puppies to nurse, i found a very large, very hard lump under one of the nipples!

Anyone know what this is? As I said, i've never encountered this with any of my dogs and i need to know if this is an emergency.

Thank you.

Hey it is 10p.m. where I am can someone tell me why if I do not have $400 to shell out right this minute that makes me a bad dog owner. Seems to me a lot of people on here must be rich or something. In the REAL world Some of us cannot just shell out money at the drop of a hat..And besides that the dog is acting fine....more like she has an itch. If I thought it was life threatening I would definetly take her to a vet but I was just trying to get some SMART people's opinions (NOT SMART ACES-)Before I spent money that was not needed. Do not jump to the conclusion that I am a bad pet owner just because I asked an opinion and said RIGHT NOW I do not have the extra cash. But thanks very much to the people who answered the questions instead of condemning me for not rushing to the E.R.

I'll admit to being biased, but I'm feeling reasonably certain that my dog just might quite possibly be the best dog ever. Actually, I've said that about every dog I've ever owned. This one's a mutt I adopted from the shelter when she was a puppy. She's well trained and doesn't act out in ways badly according to some of the general complaints I read about. I'd like to say that that I'm some kind of a dog magician, but really, I just got lucky when I selected a good dog. Mostly, I just give her lots of exercise and treat her like a dog.

Hey! I am really wanting to get a teacup puppy, so I was just now on a newspaper website and I was looking for a teacup dog, and I saw atleast 10 different ads for FREE teacup yorkie pups. They are all from 10-13 weeks old. Is this possible? I mean, those dogs normally are like 400bucks and up. Is there something wrong with Teacup Yorkies? Why are so many people giving away teacup puppies of ANY breed? Those are the most profitable. Could this be some sort of a 'trap' or scam, or are these people really clueless as to how much their dogs are worth?

So I have this 8 month old chocolate lab and she is a total spaz case. She's very timid around other people. And she can never calm down. She only knows the "sit" command but that never lasts for very long. She practically takes your hand off when you feed her a treat because she get's so excited. Whenever someone comes over I can hardly contain her because she is so excited all she wants to do is jump. She jumps on everyone. I've tried multiple things. What do you think I should do? I thought about a muzzle for the times that she's just too hyper. Because she likes to play bite. She never licks.

Please go read my last question that will explain this one.. Everyone's responses made me rush him to the emergency vet immediatley. They wanted $1500 to keep him overnight to run tests, then send him to my regular vets in the morning. Being othat Im 22 with not alot of money & no cc's I couldnt afford it. I have him home now, I feel horrible. He is sleeping now. He has thrown up 1 time since he got home. Its seems like its always after a ride. The vet didnt have any answers they told me not to feed him or give him water. He seems so thirsty. Im going to take him to my vets in the am. Does anyone know of any home remedies or something to maybe give him some nutrients in his body since he hasnt eaten since yesterday? I feel horrible not being able to do anything for him right now. I dont have any family, and just make ends meet with the money I have. I have bad credit, so now source of borrowed funds. Any info would be incouraging, at this point I dont know what to do anymore...

My dog is a 3-month-old yorkie-poo. I've heard many people say they use their own shampoo on their dog. I'm thinking something generic and not too harsh.
