Hey! I am really wanting to get a teacup puppy, so I was just now on a newspaper website and I was looking for a teacup dog, and I saw atleast 10 different ads for FREE teacup yorkie pups. They are all from 10-13 weeks old. Is this possible? I mean, those dogs normally are like 400bucks and up. Is there something wrong with Teacup Yorkies? Why are so many people giving away teacup puppies of ANY breed? Those are the most profitable. Could this be some sort of a 'trap' or scam, or are these people really clueless as to how much their dogs are worth?

Yeah....good point. I just got some replies and I think they are all from the same person, and they didn't have very good grammar....creepy, and sad.

It's most likely a scam, like the emails saying you just won $10million. Any "free" animal is still going to cost you, be very cautious...

I just recently got a puppy, he is very sick now & this is how I found myself on this site.. to ask for help.. Anyways, I must have looked into 100 different people to get a puppy from. Everyone that seemed to be giving away "Free" yorkies didnt speak very good of english, didnt live in this country, & was on some kind of mission and couldnt travel with their "babies" anymore. Then they emailed me with "Send me your address & I will ship the puppy to you right away." & they also requested the $ be sent western union. Those are scams.. I did alot of research & alot of people got screwed. The maltese I got was for a great price, and the breeder says he was as healthy as ever on Wednesday, but now it looks like Im going to pay for it. So either way, those kinds of dogs arent cheap. Good luck in your search, and always use some kind of payment method that will back you up if you report fraud..

Yeah me and my bf have 2 yorkies now. We came acrossed alot of those ads. They are scam! We looked for 6 months for our girl, and came acrossed more than 10 scams. So be careful! They don't just give them away!

Not to mention the people that can't type from other countries talking about how they are on mission trips and need to get rid of their babies... Don't believe it. Creeps! I'm to chicken to buy a dog and have it shipped to me! Puppy Dog Web has alot of scams. I would look at
www.nextdaypets.com
thats a great place to look and to be able to search by states.
Good luck!

Yes.... it most likely is a scam. There are lots listed in every city and every online classified. They were probably writing to you from Nigeria or Cameroon. They told you they were there doing missionary work and needed to get their "baby" out of Africa. Don't send them any money... you won't get a puppy and they will keep coming up with reasons they need more money. Report them to www.ic3.gov

It probably is some sort of scam, when you go see them, they're going to say "Oh, you need to pay this amount because I just took the dog to the vet for shots and etc etc.

sounds like a big scam, the pups could be seriously ill and then think of all the vet bills you might have to pay or even worse what if it dies and you got attatched to it.

Something is not right there. I would be very leery of those ads. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is usually right.
