We went to look at a puppy to buy. It is a cross between a Maltese and a red poodle. The lady seemed nice enough; both the parents were nice dogs; THE HOUSE HOWEVER WAS A SMELLY NASTY MESS! it really seemed like they didnt take care of their house very well at all... there was piled up dishes; the counters were stacked with all kinds of mess; and the smell.....WE ALMOST WANT TO GET THE DOG OUT OF THE HOUSE BUT IT IS $650. My plan is to have her sign papers that agree to return our money or pay the vet bills if things are found after a full checkup. I feel that we could bring the dog up very well and it would soon forget about its former living conditions. What do you guys think?

I have a 5 month old pup and we thought both ears were going to stay down, but about 3 days ago, the right one popped up and has been up ever since. Is there a chance the other one will follow? I've heard that trimming the hair around the ears doesn't help at all. Don't get me wrong, her big, floopy ears were what made me pick her and now with one up and the other down, it just makes her cuter, but I'm just curious.

Hey. My dalmation had a littler of puppies and of course they had no spots when they were born. Eventally, they all gained their spots...except one. What's with her? She's a year old and she's completely white. Is she still considered a dalmation? lol
Does it mean that there is something wrong with her, or is it just a weird thing?

I just bought a 6 week old purebred beagle. Lately when he scratches his ears he wimpers like it's hurting him. When I bought him, he was staying outside all the time with the other puppies and his parents. He's been staying inside since I got him. Is it normal for puppies to get ear infections this early in age?

The only pet I was allowed to have as a chid was sea monkeys. Last week someone told me that they are really just sea lice. I am so sad to find this out. I hope when all you dog lovers have to pick up after your dogs...that you appreciate how lucky you are.

I have 2 shelties and they don't seem to like it when I try to hold their paw still so I can cut their nails. Sometimes they pull their paw away and I'm afraid that maybe I'm hurting them.

Whats the best tool to use?

How do you avoid cutting the part that makes them bleed so bad???

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated : )

About a week ago my dog was yelping and crying ( really loud ) and his leg was shaking . I was able to get him to calm down and relax and he hasn't cried since . But he wont go up stairs and he wont put any weight on his back legs , I have to carry him everywhere and he is a BIG dog . I plan to get him to a vet next week for x rays but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what the problem was ?
He can walk and run fine but when it comes to putting his weight on his back legs he just cowards and gets scaried .

I'm looking for a dog for my 6 year old daughter. She has always wanted a dog, but we have a cat in the house. I want a dog that would be OK to be around our cat and easy to get trained to go outside to use the restroom. I would prefer one that is medium sized, and can stay by himself while we are at work without going nuts. Can someone please help me????
