Would you lay down, after being cooped up all day?
You have to work with her in little bits of time, show her there is a time to play and a time to chill. It will get better!

First, she's a teenager and probably crated everytime she's in the house so she's VERY excited and wants to see what's going on with everyone. It's pure curiosity and stress. My German Shepherd used to do the same thing. As long as she's not destructive let her wander, this maybe a several hours. She'll settle eventually.

Also, this will only happen if she is walked routinley 45 minutes daily. GSD's have a strong drive and get bored easily and constructive walks (not dog parks) are the best way to relieve that stress, also be consistent in discipline, and only give affection when they are calm and submissive. Once your dog is laying down on it's side and not excited pet and praise. This will show the dog that when they are calm you are happy with them. Good luck!

Well, sounds like you are confining your dog to a crate far too much. Being cooped up a lot will make a dog antsy when they are out and about.

Try to tolerate it for a few days while your dog gets used to the new situation. Also, try get in a really good long play time before you are ready to "relax" for the nite. Then your puppy will be much more settled and ready to relax with you.

Oh, about 2 years! She is a puppy not a plant. Puppy's have alot of energy, and need alot of attention. The more you leave her in a crate the more wild she will be when you let her out, and the more desperate she will be for attention. The best way to get her to relax with you at night is to wear her out before you are ready to chill. Take her to a dog park, or on a long hike.

If you want her to settle down and hang out, then she has to do more than be in the crate and in the house or in the yard on her own,

About a 2-4 miles every 1-2 days would help.

She is still physically and mentally a puppy.

A tired puppy is a happy owner

She is just still a kid. After being in a crate for a while, she has a lot of pent up energy. Try taking her for a nice long walk or run her around the back yard before watching TV.

First of all you have to remember that ANY pure bred animal is going to be VERY stubborn and hard-headed. BUT German Shephard's are even more so. You have to allow the animal to wander at times, and become comfortable in his/her surroundings. You MUST also be VERY strict and let the animal know that he/she is NOT the dominant in the household. DISCIPLINE is what pure bred animals need, and ESPECIALLY Shephards. You should also look into watching the television show called Dog Whisperer on Animal Planet channel. Ceaser Milan is the host and is VERY good with animals. You could learn some techniques that I am sure would help you. And finally, EXERCISE!!!!!!! Walks, runs, hikes, fetch..... ANYTHING!!!! JUST EXERCISE HIM/HER!!!!!!!! Have a good one. Peace

Exercise her! Take her out for long walks, make sure you take care of her needs, too...Also, you can get her a doggy backpack that she can carry on her walks, put some weight in the backpack(water bottles, maybe)Working dogs can also go berserk if they don't have a job, just imagine all that energy she has and nothing to do with it....You take care of that energy, she'll relax....a tired dog is a good dog....

Dogs are like "toddlers" until they're about 2 or 3. German shepherds in particular can be "kids" for quite awhile. Your best bet is to enroll in some puppy kindergarden, or get some books on dog training.

you will possibly desire to DO something to cajole her it incredibly is incorrect and that she won't like the outcomes (yep, in simple terms like little ones.) utilizing treats is stupid by way of fact sooner or later you will start to forget the treats or no longer have them or something, and the subsequent time you call her, she'll undergo in techniques no longer getting the take care of and determine "why situation?" Clickers are in simple terms flat stupid - they are for individuals who're too dumb to make your techniques up a thank you to immediately say "stable dogs" in a happy, excited voice. Do you somewhat need to might desire to fool around with some stupid gadget ...gee, now the place did I positioned that????? Carting a bottle of water around - uhhuh. I actual have extra ideal issues to fo and the dogs immediately decide that (a) its a game or (b) no bottle, great, i'm going to do what i choose. you generally have your palms and your voice. Use them stop leaping via any of those techniques: (a million) a noisy “No and push her off and carry her down and scold her in a deep voice with “undesirable, undesirable undesirable. Then tell her “ok, enable her up and supply her a pat (if she doesn’t bounce returned.) (2) a noisy (deep) “No and time it so as that as she comes off the floor, you convey your foot forward and step on her returned foot. (3) a noisy “No and as she comes up off the floor, improve your knee so as that she hits it together with her chest and bounces off. i'm all of ninety 8 lbs and it has worked for 40 3 years with each and every breed and each dogs I strongly propose that she and thee take yourselves to obedience type. She ned some manners, you choose some administration and each physique would be happier.
