I have little dogs, but I still don't tolerate misbehavior! I step on their back toe, keep stepping until they feel it. They'll learn that when they jump up their toes hurt! It works for large and small dogs, and they don't even know you are the culprit.

You have to DO something to convince her it is wrong and that she won't like the consequences (yep, just like kids.)

Using treats is silly because one day you will start to forget the treats or not have them or something, and the next time you call her, she'll remember not getting the treat and figure "why bother?"

Clickers are just flat stupid - they are for people who are too dumb to figure out how to quickly say "GOOD DOG" in a happy, excited voice. Do you really want to have to fool around with some stupid gadget ...gee, now where did I put that?????

Carting a bottle of water around - uhhuh. I have better things to fo and the dog quickly figure out that (a) its a game or (b) no bottle, great, I'll do what I want.

You always have your hands and your voice. Use them

Stop jumping by any of these methods:

(1) A loud “No” and push her off and hold her down and scold her in a deep voice with “Bad, Bad Bad”. Then tell her “Okay,” let her up and give her a pat (if she doesn’t leap again.)

(2) A loud (deep) “No” and time it so that as she comes off the ground, you bring your foot forward and step on her back foot.

(3) A loud “No” and as she comes up off the ground, raise your knee so that she hits it with her chest and bounces off.

I'm all of 98 lbs and it has worked for 43 years with every breed and every dog

I strongly recommend that she and thee take yourselves to obedience class. She ned some manners, you need some control and everyone will be happier.

The quickest and simplest way I have found is to fold your arms and turn your back on her. Do not pay any attention to her until she calms down. When she calms down make her sit and praise her.
Another way is to raise your knee so it hits her in the chest when she jumps. NOT hard just enough to block her.
I trained a 3 month old lab not to jump this way in 3 days.
I also used treats when she sat and didn't jump.
The lab was a lost puppy I found and the owner was amazed that she was so well behaved in 3days. But then they just tied her in the back yard.
Oh lots of patience helps tool

may I suggest the old fashioned knee up to repel the dog, not hurt and a strong "NO". Also might want to use a leash in the house on the dog...yank down everytime the dog starts to jump with a strong "NO". Also, watch the Dog Whisperer....really cool show with great solutions to problems with dogs.

I have had this problem also. Try a small hand held clicker. Every it jumps you say no and then click. After which you give it a doggie treat. It took about a good three weeks but it did work and believe me everyone is happier.

Everything I've read, for the most part, recommends "kneeing" your dog . Meaning, when your dog tries to jump on you, quickly stick your leg up so she instead lands on your knee. It isn't as bad or as cruel as it might sound. It just gets your message across.

Whenever she jumps, push her down, but don't hurt her, and say no really loud. If that doesn't work, turn your back to the dog and ignore her for a bit, and then she will forget.

Obiedence classes work wonders for that.
Or if you want to stop her from jumping on you do this.
When she starts to jump, bring up your knee fast and yell NO! And repeat it till she stops jumping on you and praise her. But repeat it if she starts to jump on you again.
That worked for my dog when she tried to jump on me. I had to do it only three times to stop her from doing so, now she lays down in front of me showing me her belly which she wants rubbed. But I don't have her any more, she passed away in 2001.
