There is no possible way to have your dog registered with A.K.C. if he is registered with Conntinental Kennel Club,as A.K.C. would not except. Most people prefer an A.K.C. pet for a "SHOW" type pet,but a C.K.C. registered pet in my opinion is just as good as an A.K.C.The C.K.C. is less hassel than A.K.C.,and C.K.C. also has trial events, along with Champion bloodlined pets.

Both parent have to be AKC
Unless by CKC you mean Canadian Kennel CLub.
There is a procedure for having a dog entered into the CKC if AKC and the AKC if CKC. It is complicated and expensive but it can be done.
Call the AKC registration section and they can get you the forms and requirements.
If you are not talking about the CANADIAN Kennel CLub, forget it, Not happening.
Apparently there is some bogus registry out there called the CKC which takes anything that sort of looks like the breed. The AKC might give you an ILP number to compete in obedience and agility but you will NEVER be able to show him in conformation or regisster any of his progeny ever,

NO, you can't. CKC is a registry made up to register the dogs that AKC would not. They give you a "certificate"...that is it. there are no other "perks" of registration like with AKC. It DOES make a difference. A dog registered with CKC is essentially UNREGISTERED. AKC is the only registry that had been around and does something. the others are FOR PROFIT registries.
The dog is NOT show quality and would not be improving the breed by reproducing. That is just the way it is. Pets are great, but they should not be adding to the gene pool!! The only reason to breed is to improve the breed.
For AKC registration...BOTH parents MUST be registered with AKC.
You only CAN if your CKC is the CANADIAN kennel club Jessica!
That is an actual kennel club and AKC will register those dogs. The CONTINENTIAL kennel Club is NOT the SAME!!!

Why not talk to some of the other breeders at the dog shows you show him in? He *is* a champion from champion lines, right? AKC champion lines, right? That means his parents have the CH before their names.
If you can't get him an AKC registry, then forget it. There is NO reason an amateur needs to be breeding a dog that's A. Not a champion and B. Not AKC registered.
The whole reason to breed a dog is to improve the breed. Unless you have found a breeder with champion dogs who is urging you to breed your dog, and who says he is an asset to the breed in color, conformation, gate, and temperment, then it's time to get him fixed.
I know that you think he is wonderful and the most beautiful dog, but a professional dog judge will probably disagree with you as they use the breed standard to judge with, not their hearts. This doesn't make him any less wonderful of a dog, but Min Pins are constantly put up for rescue and there is no need to add to that. Give your dog a chance at just being a pet and have him neutered ASAP. You'll be preventing pet overpopulation, you'll lower his chance for testicular and other cancers, and you'll have a more wonderful dog who isn't constantly driven by his hormones.
If you don't believe me, contact the Min Pin club, I've linked to it below. Talk to someone who is involved with rescue and ethical, responsible breeding.
Good luck to you.

it depends if the CKC you're talking about is Continental Kennel Club or Canadian Kennel Club. If it's the Continental Kennel Club, then you most likely can register him with the AKC as well, but if it's the Continental Kennel Club then you can't. The Continental Kennel Club, like the other poster stated, is just a made up registry for dogs that cannot be registered with the AKC.

No, you cannot register him with the AKC. CKC (Continental Kennel Club) does not require proof of parentage for registration. They only require a picture, and your statement saying the dog is a purebred. They are not a registry you want to work with.

I think you can. Acutuallay I'm postive you can.
Being a breeder, I've seen many ads and dogs including my cousins Coon Hunting partner his Walker was CKC, AKC, UKC, and all the reg. there is.
Remember, you have to have the dogs back ground. Just go to the place, or print one off the internet of AKC.org and mail it to them.
Good Luck and hoped this helped!

both parents HAVE to be akc to regester the litter akc... the only way to insure all breeding stays pure... even though people who are of lessor ethics will lie to get papers... its still the best regestery for pure breds.gotta play by the rules... ckc is for dogs who cant get real papers.
