CHanging food os the correct first step, don't try to go cheap but you don't have to get the most expensive, either. Go wih something that is all "brown", as some dogs can be sensitive to dyes.
I also rub hair conditioner on my dogs hair and just leave it till it dries, and brush him out. That helps his coat, his skin, and he even smells nice!

Goldens shed most all year round and there are least two times a year that it is a lot. You can expect dog hair everywhere if you own a Golden Retriever. They need to be brushed daily and regular use of an undercoat rake will significantly improve the shedding. Daily brushing also keeps them from matting. If you do not like dog hair in your house a Golden is probably not the dog for you.

I would give her a product called Lecithin it makes there coats shiny they are vitamin supplements they won't hurt your dog.try bathing her in a product called BasicH2 for the bedraggled look. You order these products through Shaklee.ca For the BasicH2 i would put in 1/2Tsp for a gallon of water . Because your dog is still basically a puppy I would only give it 1 Lecithin. I use Alfalfa on my dog and they work great for him.

Talk to your breeder. Have the vet check him out for any allergies or skin diseases, goldens are known for that. Also, their are many products you can use to keep him coat nice. Do some research! Your breeder should be able to help you with this. My goldens are 6 years old, beautiful dogs! I still keep contact with my breeder as any good breeder should!
